Sleep tracking inaccurate with Versa

My Versa tracks my sleep but it's inaccurate.  I woke up this morning at 7am.  My Versa reported I was awake at 5am & it stopped tracking my sleep.  Other nights it starts my sleep long after I go to bed.  I'm asleep after my head hits the pillow.  My Blaze used to track sleep if I fell asleep in the recliner, recorded awake time when I moved to my bed & went back to tracking sleep until I woke in the morning.  Are there known issues with the Versa's sleep tracking that are being corrected by Fitbit?  I made the wrong assumption accuracy (heart rate, steps, sleep) would not be an issue with the Versa since the Blaze works so well.

not all products offer the best buy protection   for example all the Beats headphones do not offer the protection plan...they are owned by Apple....it is not Best Buys decision to provide or not provide the protection ...

@SunsetRunner I'm not sure that is true. This is the in house best buy protection plan that they no longer off. t It's the Geek Squad protection/replacement plan.  I bought my Versa in June and I purchased the plan.  It's the reason I bought it at Best Buy.  I wanted that plan for any issues, including accidental breakage to the screen.  I also feel like the decision by Best Buy to exclude Fitbit is a reflection of the quality.

Received two of them today.  I think we are hitting too close to home and now they have started to censor.  What a shameful company.  Everyone should screen print their posts.  This company is indeed headed the way of Jawbone who lost touch with what customers wanted and is out of business now.

Hi everyone

ive read lots of the problems people are facing with inaccurate sleep info- am having all the same problems!!! My Blaze worked perfectly! After spending another £200, I’m really disappointed. It showed that I woke up 15 mins after I’d got up today, abdxid been out in the garden hanging washing. Every night it is completely inaccurate about going to sleep, waking during the night etc... some nights it says I’ve has 1 and a half hrs sleep... please sort this problem out Fitbit!!! Vikki

I received the same today. For an innocuous message that totally didn't
violate anything.

it is true  guess where I work.  Fitbit has withdrawn the protection on the versa..Best Buy corp follows the manufactures request for the extended warranty.  what happens if someone uses their warranty, best buy sends the watch back to Fitbit.  So, yes I got the 2 year on mine, I bought mine in July.  I was going to use it to exchange for a new versa then I realized that they removed the protection so I wouldnt be able to get it.  However, I may wait to exchange it via the warranty with the new Charge 3 and then get the warranty on the charge 3   Dont know what I will do...

After just one update right after launch still no new updates, no useable answers/solutions.

I really would have wished that Fitbit had any real development results to report. I really wanted to like this watch. After more than half a year of moderators telling to reset the watch, thanking for input, it all has become meaningless and unbelievable bla, bla, bla...

Such a shame.

They’ve moved on the next fraud (I mean product).

@SunsetRunner I believe all fitbit products are excluded from the best buy warranty. So how would you get the warranty on the Charge 3?

you are right they did remove the protection from all of their products hummmmmm  anyway, I still have mine before they removed the protection..so the question remains  stay with the versa or try the charge 3 when it comes out

@hoofbeats95  I've now had my Versa for a little more than two months.  During that time the ONLY issue I've had with it was the Versa's inability to reliably track sleep stages.  Everything else about the Versa has worked spot on.  Thanks to your wristband idea, my Versa regained its ability to report sleep stages every day.  But then it stopped doing so about a week ago, and only the frustrating bare bones total sleep report with no stages returned.  But there appears to be a solution, one that's now worked consistently for me for several days, and it doesn't even entail using a wristband, or resetting, or tweaking start/stop times, etc.  Before retiring for the night, I simply scrub my wrist's backside (the side where the Versa sits)  with soap, water and a washcloth and then vigorously towel dry my wrist, rinse off the sensor array on the backside of the Versa and its band, and put the Versa back on so it fits snugly on my wrist, maybe one more notch tighter than I wear it during the day.  Again, this wasn't my idea, but someone else's post that gently exfoliating her wrist at bedtime did the trick to restore sleep stage reports from the Versa.  I still very much appreciate your wristband idea though, because it kept me from giving up on the Versa, which I have come to like very much.  Lastly, since the sensor array on the Charge 3 appears to be identical to that on the Versa, it's users appear likely to experience the same sleep stage reporting issues as we have with the Versa.

I learned my lesson with the Versa:  I'll never buy a Fitbit again without thoroughly reviewing the community boards for that product first.  I used to think that C-net reviews and such were sufficient, but in this case they did not mention anything about sleep tracking issues (understandable since not all units are having the problem and theirs may have been fine).

I went back to my Charge 2 after returning the Versa and it's still working fine.  Definitely one of those "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" life lessons.

I mostly bought the Versa because I wanted to be able to wear it for swimming, then learned on these boards that cracking of the watch face (and thus water potentially seeping in) was a little too common for my comfort.  And never expected the sleep tracking issues...suuuper disappointing.

Although I thought I had given my last review of the versa, I do have to say that for the last three nights I have gotten incomplete or interrupted sleep stats. I was able to successfully edit them. This clearly means that the watch is recording accurately and reporting incorrectly. My conclusion is bolstered by the fact that there was no interruption in my heart rate recording for all three nights. My my.....

I totally agree with one sensor likely being the problem. I switched back to my Blaze, I was gonna sell it but never did, and it has tracked 2 nights in a row so far without a glitch. The Versa definitely has a few advantages over the Blaze but if you want sleep tracking the Versa is not the way to go.

I see that many people are having issues with the sleep tracking on the Versa. Recently switched from a Blaze to the Versa, wear it the same, sleep the same, but the Versa is not tracking the sleep accurately at all! My wife is a better tracker!!!

This needs to be sorted as soon as possible or I will be getting my money back, hopefully!
