Sleep tracking inaccurate with Versa

My Versa tracks my sleep but it's inaccurate.  I woke up this morning at 7am.  My Versa reported I was awake at 5am & it stopped tracking my sleep.  Other nights it starts my sleep long after I go to bed.  I'm asleep after my head hits the pillow.  My Blaze used to track sleep if I fell asleep in the recliner, recorded awake time when I moved to my bed & went back to tracking sleep until I woke in the morning.  Are there known issues with the Versa's sleep tracking that are being corrected by Fitbit?  I made the wrong assumption accuracy (heart rate, steps, sleep) would not be an issue with the Versa since the Blaze works so well.

This is the kind of magical thinking we fairly rational people have reverted to in attempting to solve the sleep tracking problem. Is it the band?  Is it the clock face?  Is it because the moon is in the seventh hour and Jupiter is aligning with mars?  Fitbit, you are lowering our iq’s!

Speaking of clock face, I only get relatively accurate detailed sleep stats with the Layers clock face. I tried another Fitbit clock face and the results were laughable. Why?  And even the Layers face seems to cut off some time at the beginning and end of my sleep times.  What a mess.

Basic (disintegrated), Ultra, One, Surge (returned), Flex, Charge, Alta, Charge 2, iPhone 7 Plus, Macbook Pro, iPad Pro.

I'm also having the same issues.  I have a sleeping disorder and my fitbit Charge reported accurate results.   The first two/three weeks the Versa had accurate records, but now it's not even close.   I can't give the doctor my sleep logs any longer with the fitbit Versa,

I imagine Fitbit is monitoring this site. It would be nice if they let us know that they care about how this sleep tracking issue is a real concern to many members. THIS IS A SHOUT OUT TO FILBOT VERSA !!!!!!!!

Exactly...it begins tracking much later than the actual start-of-sleep time, and god forbid if you get up at all in the night...it either completely stops tracking at that point, or it waits another hour or two before starting to track again.

However, my Versa is tending to not recognise when I first fall
asleep and also often stops recording after I've visited the bathroom.
Setting the Versa to 'sensitive' (as suggested in another post) makes
matters worse as it then reports that I am restless all night. Manually
editing the start and end times sometimes works but often produces odd
results.

Same with me! It worked for the first few weeks and now it doesn’t even log my sleep.
Not sure if I should return it:(

Well I've had mine for a week, and so far it appears to be functioning as well as the Charge 2. I'm hopeful!!!

After two weeks with Versa, sleep tracking is my main complaint too.  I've got mine with upgrade offer for Pebble Time. Pebble for the most part was doing a great job of at least correctly logging the overall sleep time. Pebble also consistently picked up time when I napped during the daytime. Versa is slow with detecting time when I fall asleep and often shows that sleep started an hour or even more later. It also shows me awake good half an hour before I know it. I can probably "adjust the user" and tell myself that 5-5.5 hours of Versa sleep time qualifies as a good night. But how I can trust Fitbit to accurately track different sleep stages, if they cannot even detect properly when I am asleep? They've got all the Pebble engineers there now, should be easy to get some advice.

Looks just like my tracking on sleep. Love the rest of the watches function.

I loved the watch. But if doesn't do it's basic functions, I see no reason to buy it. I just returned it. 😒

I don't know if anyone else has brought this up in this message board yet, but the way I have sleep set is to turn off the heart rate monitor before I go to bed and then turn it back on when I wake up. I'm now getting a full night's sleep logged every night.

I hope this helps someone!

I thought heart rate is the basis for sleep tracking? That’s weird that it would work without it.

I wish that I knew more about how the Versa tracks my sleep. I do know that it uses your heart beat some how. Don’t know if it uses movement.  I do wish it would be fixed.

Maybe it’s just that all of us have something about us that keeps it from tracking correctly.
