I'll go straight to the punchline: my Versa 2 does not appear to be emitting a bluetooth signal.
History:
Owned this Versa 2 for 3 years, without issue, until last week. Started acting wonky (beeping, buzzing, not staying on 'home' screen. I fixed this behavior by doing a hard reset (NOT a factory reset, just forcing it to shut down and restart). This appeared to fix that problem. Versa worked fine for the next 5 days. Yesterday the Versa would not sync to the app. I literally tried 30 times. After reviewing the community forum, I tried the following (not in exactly this order, but close):
(I tried to sync after each of these steps)
At this point I had tried more than 2 dozen times shutting off my Versa, shutting off bluetooth, shutting down my phone, ... the Versa is no longer visible to either my iPhone bluetooth receiver or in the app.
6. Completely removed the Fitbit app, including all data. Reinstalled the Fitbit app. Went through steps 1-5 above again. Nothing. The Versa is not recognizable.
7. As a last resort, I reset my Versa to the factory defaults, thereby losing my data, but at this point I had a device that was headed to the electronics recycling center. The Versa is now stuck on the initial setup screen, telling me to install the Fitbit app - which is installed, of course. I have tried multiple times to setup a "NEW" device in the app, but again, the Versa is not recognized.
I believe the Versa is not sending a bluetooth signal.
Is there anything else I can try? I have now spent more than 7 hours reading every post on the same or similar problems and trying to troubleshoot.
Thank you,
Elizabeth

When it wasn't syncing, was it updating anything, i.e. step count, on phone app? If so, it was emitting bluetooth.
My personal strategy on syncing problems is to reboot phone, then restart (not factory reset) tracker. If it doesn't sync then, just wait and be patient. Your tracker will hold about a week's of worth of data between syncs. Sometimes it just doesn't sync, but then will on its own a few hours later. My belief is that more problems are caused by trying to do too much, rather than just reboot phone, restart tacker, and wait patiently.

Hello, and thank you for the quick response.
In answer to your question...my Fitbit was not updating anything - steps, zone minutes, etc. . But get this: my step count on my watch would go from the actual steps at last count (3k+) to 10,000 steps exactly, to 2500 steps exactly, to the correct steps, back to 10k steps. It was all over the place. Also...the time showing on the device was weird. All of of a sudden, in the middle of the afternoon it said it was 2:00 something AM. An hour later it showed a time that was about 12 minutes later than that. 5 hours later the time on the watch showed it was about 4:00 and something AM. So the clock was moving at about 1/5th the speed of actual time.
To be honest, I think for some reason, it's just hosed.
Thoughts? 🙂
To be honest, the watch just started behaving strangely. I was hoping that re-syncing I could get it back in line.

Sorry, I have no explanation or ideas for that behavior.
