Thanks for that information. Unfortunately, unless you buy the Fitbit flier earbuds or other product with an equalizer feature built in, the music feature of Versa is basically unusable because of poor sound quality. Oh well, maybe in time they will fix that.

In what way is it unusable? I find it more than adequate.

I find it unusable because of the tinny sound, like not a deep rich sound.  perhaps its the wireless earbuds that I have.  Sony WT100.     should I be looking for a particular type?

It's not unusable - but it sounds like crap. Like Norm says, no bass, full treble. I guess your stuck having to pay $120 and buy the Flyer if you want any kind of quality.

Have any of you guys tried Bose? Just out of curiosity. I'm to lazy to pair... 😛 and load music... yeah lazy 😛

In general as with most music players on the market today, the quality of the playing is in the quality of the speakers. So yes I expect ear buds like apples to sounds better than a 15USD earbud from wish.com.

The reason the flyer might son's better than the cheap earbuds people are complaining about might be caused by a difference in quality.

I would search for reviews off headphones/earbuds that you interested in, there are high quality units that are cheaper than the flyer.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have JBL Reflect Mini2 ($70). Not a cheap pair. They sound great if the app has an equalizer.  Since Ionic does not, I'm returning those and getting the Sony SP600N ($90). They have an equalizer with 5 settings. Should be much better.

Are saying those Sony wireless earbuds have an equalizer built into them?

It's controlled with an app. Here is an excerpt from Best Buy.

Requires download of Sony | Headphones Connect app for iPhone from the App Store or for Android from Google Play. User must link compatible devices in order to control operation.

Headphones Connect App – Can be downloaded for Free at the Apple or Google Play Stores. The App allows you to turn ON the Quick Sound Settings, which enables you to set the Ambient Sound Control and Equalizer Presets. The App on your smartphone or device can control switching between the two Ambient Sound Modes, Normal and Voice, and the Noise Canceling mode. The EQ Presets are Bright, Excited, Mellow, Relaxed, Vocal, Treble Boost, Bass Boost, Speech, and OFF. I personally like the Excited Preset because it has the highest bass setting (+8) over Bass Boost (+7), which I prefer for my workouts. Excited features more of the kick drum, deep bass, whereas Bass Boost accentuates the low end of acoustic guitar, piano, and deeper notes of vocalists while providing a punch for robust bass tones. Although you cannot adjust any of the EQ settings you can have FUN using the eight presets according to your musical genre choices. The App also displays what music is playing, battery power, along with your choice of Sound Quality Mode, priority on Sound Quality or Stable Connection. The APP also remembers all of your last settings.
