I've had my fitbit versa special edition for 2 weeks. The band (purple) is already fraying and started the first week I got it. Curious if this is happening already to anyone else?

FitBit need to stop fobbing people off.

Email support, they’ll send you a new one as a courtesy.
It’s ludicrous to me that they would make a band that isn’t for all day use FITBIT.
It took me 10 mins to replace the woven band after it started to fray and I’m not doing that twice a day.
NOPE.
GET IT TOGETHER PLEASE.
whoever ok’d the mechanism on the bands needs to be fired.

when I emailed them & called them I was told that I had to send the entire Fitbit back in order to get just that one band replaced because they didn’t make replacements. I was supposed to send the whole thing back and they would’ve sent me an entirely new Fitbit

I was just asked for my address and band size along with a picture of the fraying next to a hand written number.
My Fitbit is only three weeks old, but that shouldn’t matter.
A faulty band is a faulty band. Email them again.

I had one rep who took pity on me because I can't use the classic bands (I have eczema and they make me break out) but they could only send me the charcoal woven band (currently shipping and should be able to confirm next week or so if it's actually woven).
It sounded like there was no back-stock of the lavender band but probably enough replacements of the other SE to be able to send out a few. I'm seeing what I can do to repair my lavender band right now so I can keep it for when I want to wear it.... I'd prefer not to have to buy another $40-50 band just to not have my skin break out. If I'm successful I'll try and post a blog about how to "fix it". If not, I guess I"m out another $40-50.

They offered to replace my woven band but I asked for a plastic one. Why send me a band that I can’t even sleep in? You’re going to replace the woven band that started fraying after a week with the exact same band?
Um no thank you...

Did they suddenly start making separate replacement bands for this?

Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.
I went through one on the phone, one hat and one email and all 3 told me the same thing...this was about a month ago though

You need to email them or start responding to their posts on social media. They’ll replace it for you then. Bug them to death.

My purple band frays, too. I wear it during the day and to sleep, never in the shower, pool, etc.
I bought the special edition Versa because...it was special. If I can’t sleep in the cloth band, that’s just simply ridiculous. The fraying shouldn’t be happening.
i bought my daughter the Versa and her arm has large red welts on it from the silicone band.
And, neither work with our iPhones for messaging. Very expensive investment for two devices that are not delivering.
