Special Edition...Worth It?

Honestly, is the SE worth it? $30 more for a nice grey coloured band and a black one and the ability to pay from your wrist... but is it easy to use Fitbit pay? How does the Starbucks app work with Fitbit pay? Do y'all use Fitbit pay a lot? And is it more secure? Sorry, throwing a bunch of questions out there but I want to know your opinions, is it ACTUALLY worth it?

It is worth it if you want to use Fitbit Pay or the Starbucks app.

The Starbucks app works just like having a gift card. If you already have an account via the phone app, you can enter that number into your Fitbit via the Fitbit app. You can also enter a gift card number if you prefer. The app displays the bar code for the number, which is scanned for payment. I use the app all the time and love that I can grab water or a snack anytime while out with having to have my wallet with me.

The Regular Edition doesn't have GPS, while the Special Edition does have GPS. The Regular Edition will connect to Phones and use their GPS like the Charge 2 does. If you don't need GPS, then the Special Edition is not worth it to you.

EDIT: The above is incorrect.  See Message #11 in this thread.

As far as I know neither edition of the Versa has GPS. The Ionic does if that’s what you want

Both have connected GPS.ist have your phone with you. The only Fitbit that has its own gps is the Ionic

i think it’s worth it cause I want the lavender woven band and the extra classic one. The woven ones will not be available separately.

The pay option is a personal choice ... I wouldn't use it myself, but I can see how handy it could be

I love that SE purple band!

I can't wait until people start receiving their Versas and post photos!

I'm about ready to pre order... down to two choices. Plain ol silver or plain ol black.??

Thank you very much, Wendy.  Looks like I had confused GPS as the difference, while it is just Fitbit Pay as the difference like  Marci had said earlier.  I apologize to all for the misinformation.

I bought the special edition for the same reason! I've been waiting for it since May 1st. It should be here tomorrow and now I see the same band for sale online. I'm kicking myself!
