Special Edition Wristband options

With the New Fitbit Versa coming out, comes new features and an awesome Special Edition Watch! The Fitbit Versa is shown to come with the classic band of the consumers choice. For the Special Edition, it's seen to only have to different choices for the consumer. If you want a rose gold Special Edition watch, it comes with the pink/purple band, and if you want the black watch, then you get a black/grey band. Both Special Edition choices are accompanied by a black classic band as well.

Now, as a consumer, I'm a little disappointed with my choices. I absolutely love the features that come with the special edition watch, but I am unhappy with the band choices. I feel as though Fitbit should allow the customers a little more power and choice when it comes to choosing the ultimate bands that the customer will be satisfied with. Whether it be allowing the customers to choose the black/grey special addition band and pair it with the rose gold special edition watch (and vice versa), to allowing customers to choose another color other then black for their classic bands, or even the crazy idea of allowing the consumer to choose 2 classic bands in place of the special edition band (one replaces the special edition band, and the other is the classic band that comes with the special edition). The consumer is the one who ultimately will be wearing these bands on their wrists and the consumer should be nothing less then extremely satisfied with the colors and material they are wearing with their new shiny watch.

I know for myself, I'm not crazy about wearing a clothe band around my wrist when its getting warmer and soon to be a very hot Florida summer! Clothe absorbs sweat when as the rubber material does not. The classic bands would last longer and not turn a gross color and smell like the clothe bands would so fast. I also as a consumer do not prefer the pink/purple color that is offered with the special edition rose gold watch. . . If I had the option, I would choose the black/grey band.

Enough with my babbles. . . Long story short, we need more options! Fitbit Versa is the new smart watch must have!! Its a cheap alternative to the apple watch and shares many similar features! There's no doubt Fitbit is stepping up their game and bringing new and interesting features into smart watches and posing a threat to other companies struggling to offer the same! But offering more power to the customer by allowing them to freely decide what bands they would like with their new shiny watch would be that much better!! So come on Fitbit!! Let us choose what we wear!

Hey @Ari_Haley14 Nice to see you here on the Versa board!

Thanks for all your feedback on the Special edition wristband options for Versa. I'll make sure to relay this feedback to our team. The special editions are limited to two colors, but overall there are many wristband options available for Versa, including accessories that are sold separately. Since you're most interested in the classic bands, you can order your preferred color separately as an accessory in the web store.

You do realize there are plenty of inexpensive band choices on Amazon. Fitbit can't possibly anticipate every combination.

Best Answer

This would mean that Fitbit will need to package each possible combination and give a separate model number for each. Then will have to send out each combo to every store selling Fitbits.

Best Answer

They wouldn't need a separate model number because it would be the option for only the special editions. And the classic brands are cheaper then the clothe ones so if consumers wanted two classic bands they would be saving money (no need for new model numbers). However I understand the issue with having to pair every possible combinations, but it could also be an online only offer and not in stores.

They would need to have different packaging to signafy the band style.

Best Answer

It would be nice if they were able to sell different bands separately...maybe later when more people start buying smart watches and they can get bulk discounts to manufacture.

When a fitness tracker is popular enough, third parties begin to sell aftermarket accessories online.

The Versa will be popular enough.

If I'm paying $229.00 for it then I think we should have better options for colors. I wear a small size band. What do I do with the large band? It's wasteful to include the two sizes.  Plus not all girls like lavender and yet I think the other option is to masculine.  My other thought is that the special edition fabric bands look cheap. I think it's awful to have to more money to get a look that I'm happy with.

You don’t get a full large band. Just half of the band to convert it to a larger size. Like what the Apple Watch does with theirs

Since customers where unsure what size to buy, Fitbit made this change to make their chose easier .

Wow! That’s a lot of choices, @WendyB

When will they offer the frame. I like rose gold but would like the option of purchasing the silver or black frame.

Best Answer

@RosaFM I'm not sure if it is even possible. The Versa does not come with a removable frame like the Blaze did .

Best Answer

@RosaFM ... you can order the rose gold Versa that you like, then go to a third party seller, such as Amazon and order a woven band in almost any color you want at very reasonable prices. Just a thought ...

Can you at least able to change black band with it? I am not. I am able to do purple one on and off but unable to replace with the extra band came with it.

Which Fitbit are you speaking about? I currently have the Ionic and it just seems a little too bothersome to change.  I have owed a Surge, Blaze and an Ionic. The Surge watch you could not change. The Blaze watch, I changed colors constantly but the Ionic is a little harder for me to maneuver. However, you can change bands.
