If the Versa had Spotify I would be the first in line to buy one. Is Fitbit looking into partnering with Spotify? If not, why not?

The way to listen to music, Pandora or Deezer, not Spotify, is by downloading a playlist from the app onto the Versa, so the Versa Lite is not capable. Even the full Versa does not stream directly, so it has to be stored on the tracker.
Note there is no Spotify app for Fitbit, just Pandora or Deezer.

PLEASE get Spotify so we can actually listen to music. If you are going to advertise music capabilities please don’t make them forced Subscriptions to lower quality providers. It is such a great product and could be so much better!

@Tessla96 Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I really understand how you feel about this and thank you for sharing your feedback.
Please give your vote to this Feature Suggestion, which requests Spotify to be implemented. The more votes this requests, the more chances it will have to be reviewed by our engineers.
Don'e hesitate to get back if you have any questions! 😀

Hi all,
I'm new to the Fitbit scene but enjoying it so far and think it's great!
However, I'm at a loss trying to get Spotify working on my Versa...I've read online about using 3rd party applications to transfer Spotify playlists and add them to a playlist (converting the music files to .mp3), my only concern is I have to purchase a licence for the said 3rd party application... also I've noticed the Spotify HR app but after installing and testing it still requires Spotify to be open on my phone.
Spotify - Premium account
iPhone X user
Is there a way I can attach Bluetooth headphones to my versa and play music from it (preferably my Spotify playlist) so I can leave my phone at home whilst going out for a run without spending more money?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Community Forums @phatton! Please note that even though Spotify is not yet available in the Versa you can use Music Control as described here. I understand how important is for you to have Spotify added, which is why I would like to encourage you to check @erinleigh417's suggested idea to implement Spotify support in the Fitbit Versa. Feel free to add your vote and comment to this idea, this is truly the best way to make your voice heard and get the attention from our development team.
Keep in mind that Spotify HR is not an app developed by Fitbit, so my best recommendation is to reach out the developer of the app. To contact the developer tap on Account > Versa > Apps > Spotify HR and scroll down until you find the link "Contact Developer"
Please note that you will need to start a song or playlist on the Spotify app for Spotify HR to work. Remember that both apps, Spotify and Fitbit should be running on the background for Spotify HR to work.
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Just ran across this YouTube Video where she has it in her new Versa. This video was published on March 26, 2019. I just don’t know how she did it. Check out at the 1:28 mark...

Why is spotify not on the versa? It doesn't make sense. Why would you partner up with an app (deezer) that only has 100+ million downloads on Google play while spotify has over 500 million users. It makes absolutely no sense. I'm probably going to sell my versa because of this reason.

The Spotify feature suggestion ( https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Spotify-for-Ionic-Versa/idi-p/2171901 ) now has over 11,000 votes so you're certainly not the only one asking for it. It's also been around for nearly two years so if it were going to happen then I would it would have happened by now.
Perhaps the issue is with Spotify not wanting to partner with Fitbit?
If it's a showstopper for you then perhaps selling it is your best option.

I downloaded Spotify to my Fitbit Versa Lite. But when I go on Spotify on my Versa it say “no device found” so I go on Spotify on my phone too. Then it will show “ lost connection to the Fitbit app” on my Versa lite. What do I do? I’m totally lost...

As far as I know, only Pandora and Deezer are supported streaming services.
I'm curious how you think you downloaded Spotify to your Versa Lite.
But even more importantly, the Versa Lite, unlike the full Versa, does not store music - one of the differences that makes it a "Lite" version.

You don't actually need the spotify app on your watch to control spotify. I find the generic controls works much better:
Swipe left on your watch and open settings. Scroll down and open bluetooth options, tap several times on "Music via Bluetooth" until it reads "pair", now in your phones bluetooth options pair with the "Versa Lite (Classic)". NOT the "Versa Lite".
Open Spotify, your music player or youtube on your phone and play something.
Now on your phone long press the sidebutton until you feel the vibration and then slide right to get to the music controls.

There is a spotify app available for the watch. Check the app section.

I think I understand now what you are saying. This is an app to control Spotify on you phone.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Thank you that is very helpful and I understand some what better now. But what I still don’t understand is why won’t my Spotify app work on my Versa? Every time I go on it, it says “lost connection to the Fitbit app” what do I do?

So what's the deal with spotify on the versa 2? The press release is a bit vague and only calls out music controls via a spotify app. What about downloading music? Will the spotify app allow downloading Playlists, albums or songs and playing them from the versa?
Will Spotify come to the Versa 1?

The Versa 2 spotify app will only be able to control the spotify app on your phone. It won't let you download anything
Don't know about it being available on the Versa 1 - the press release doesn't mention it.
