If the Versa had Spotify I would be the first in line to buy one. Is Fitbit looking into partnering with Spotify? If not, why not?

oh wow, how in the world is it possible that they do not support Spotify? It was the very first thing I tried to set up right out of the box only to fail at it and now find this topic online. Had never thought this was even possible in 2019.
I received the Versa for free through work and am still contemplating giving it back and buying a different brand myself.
Deezer must have paid them a nice sum of money to keep Spotify out

There is an app to control spotify in fitbit app store. There just isn't a spotify app that supports offline so you don't need your phone to listen.

@MichaelSch @georgiamama2019 @eqverb @SunsetRunner @biediebop I apologize for the late response. However, I totally understand how frustrating this is for you guys. I truly appreciate your feedback since this helps us to keep improving.
Please give your vote to this Feature Suggestion. The more votes this idea gets, the more chances it will have to be reviewed by our engineers and developers.
@Bellatorius Welcome to our Fitbit forums! Your contribution is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for replying. However you keep mentioning to vote for the feature request. This is your top feature request by far. Of the almost 4.000 (!) feature requests for fitbit the Spotify support request is the one with the most votes. And it was created 2 years ago!
So perhaps instead of continuing to tell people to vote, you guys should consider sharing your true reasoning behind lacking the feature. Why not give an honest answer?

Is the new Fitbit Versa compatible with Spotify? This is a big thing that is throwing me off with getting it. Otherwise, I'll be looking into other company's for a "Smart Watch"/ Fitness Tracker.

Hi, unfortunately Spotify is not supported by Fitbit, only Deezer and Pandora. But you can visit this site: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Spotify-for-Ionic-Versa/idi-p/2171901 and vote for it. Saw somewhere, do not recall where exactly, that it will be coming soon.

I'm pretty sure this won't happen for a long while. I don't know for sure but I would expect that Samsung have an exclusivity agreement with Spotify stating that a Spotify smartwatch app can only exist on Samsung smart watches.
I have a feeling because I used to work for Samsung to make similar deals like this happen for their products.
Once the term for the exclusivity ends then we will may start seeing Spotify on fitbits. Unless they have this agreement in perpetuity.

They are very specifically choosing to not give answers on Spotify across multiple threads, or still evading and directing back to the poll.
There are likely business reasons, either exclusivity or they're unable / unwilling to strike a deal. Spotify is willing to deal with both Garmin and Samsung and is devoutly agnostic and multiplatform in partner philosophy, so it's unlikely it's a Spotify exclusivity problem.

Hello fitbitr’s
wanna increase sales?
make customers happier and thus more loyal?
offer the best product possible?
then add Spotify.
I know youre an Agile shop so this has to be on your product backlog. Move it to he top. We’re willing to way a couple sprints to get this great option
puh-lease
or at least formally tell us that it is coming or that we should consider a diff product once our current Fitbit croaks. It’s the least you can do considering how many people are asking for this.
I always tell my kids that when someone is talking to you, you need to respond. Not doing so is disrespectful
i say this all with much love and respect dipped in a sauce of slight anguish

Did you ever thought that fitbit can't do that alone? Spotify has to agree with it.
This is the same case about quick replies on iPhones... if Apple doesn't allow it... it won't happen.
It's like when Netflix takes a looong time to add some seasons of a good tv show... it's not netflix's fault.

Hi Danyele
It’s a no brainer for Spotify too.
Not formally responding to thousands of requests for this is unacceptable especially for a company that will live and die by the loyalty of its customer base.
Same with Apple. I’ve gotten to the point that I’d consider a google phone for my next mobile. Especially if they have he hubris to charge a thousand dollars for a phone. Netflix too. None of these companies have a monopoly. There are other choices
with that said, I like my Versa enough to provide actionable feedback to Fitbit to help improve the product. It’s on them to listen and take action at their own peril.

2 years on and no real answers, just constantly advised to vote on it but how many votes do you need over this time to have some sort of answer? (Obviously not as important as Brexit but are the same ppl working on Brexit and problem solving this??)
I'm guessing it's not going to happen any time soon so I'm sorry but when I upgrade it'll be with someone else purely because of this. I've had my Blaze a few years so looking now.
I want to be able to use my spotify account and download music to my watch so I don't have to take my bulky phone on a run. A feature I can get from other brands.

They are unable to answer probably because they themselves do not know. Or are unwilling to share the reasons why puzzlingly there's no support for the world's most popular music service.
Ive resorted to picking up a Samsung Gear Sport for 80 bucks used off eBay. Was cheaper than picking up a Music version Garmin for Spotify purposes. I use the Samsung for workouts , with offline Spotify playlists. And then use the versa for everything else.
Fitbit hasn't given us any alternative solutions.

Hi. I am thinking about getting a Versa or Versa Light and I was wondering about the Spotify app. So I know that the Versa Light can download apps but cannot store music. Does the lack of ability to store music interfere with being able to listen to Spotify on the Versa Light? The music playing aspect is important to me so it would determine which version I would get (I would prefer the Versa Light).
Thanks.
