Stairmaster and floor count

Hey there, my favourite gym workout is a 100+ floor climb on the Stairmaster (PowerMill/Climbmill/Stepmill etc), but my Versa3 struggles to know what this is. I’ve tried using the Elliptical and Stair Climber settings on the FitBit itself, and neither of these options tracks the same number of floors or steps as the Stairmaster itself.

Please could someone let me know which Exercise is best for recording this, or can I manually add in how many floors I’ve climbed after my workout? The Stairmaster only shows floors climbed, not steps, so really I’d like the FitBit to at least count the steps correctly. Many thanks in advance!

@Roxabelle Fitbits have altimeters. You get floors by raising elevation. I use a stairclimber almost daily myself, and often have to get off and go up the basement stairs to get my floors for the day. And no, you can't manually add floors. And the best way to make sure you're getting all the steps, is to swing your arm. If your Fitbit arm is stationary, Fitbits are known to struggle with steps.

Aaaaah thank you, that makes more sense but I’m disappointed that FitBit won’t let you manually add floors as a workout. I climb the equivalent of the

Guangzhou International Finance Centre on the Stairmaster and yet I have nothing to show for it on my Fitbit stats, lol. I can’t always swing my arms too, as occasionally I’ll be holding onto the Stairmaster handrails. Last time I completed a 100+ workout, my Fitbit only logged a meagre 58 steps… I’m going to have to strap it to my ankle!

Did Stephan get to your ankle work? I just bought a versa and now I'm disappointed because I almost daily among the StairMaster.

No, sadly not. I just have to accept that FitBit doesn’t have this feature. In an ideal world, it would have a Stairmaster setting or at least let you manually add floors, and also a way of counting lengths you swim in a pool. Those are my two biggest frustrations with the device.
