Step count doubling on app when I sync my Versa 2

for the past 2 days when i sync my versa 2 with the app, the step count on the app is nearly double what is on my versa. example: today my versa is at 15748 and the app is at 24701. how do i fix this because it then throws off my myfitnesspal sync.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @jerobitaille. Thank you for letting us know that when you sync your Versa 2 your step count doubles. 

This behavior shouldn't happen to your Fitbit. In order to assist you, could you please let me know when did this happen for the first time? Do the steps go up every time you sync your Versa 2.

I´d recommend force quitting the app, removing your Versa 2 of your phone´s Bluetooth and setting it up again following the instructions of:  How do I set up a replacement device or add a second device to my account?
