Steps recorded by Versa varying from person to person.

My wife and I both have Versa. She always has less steps than me though she is more active.  I put both Versa's on me and her Versa has more steps than mine now.  I just don't understand why.  I would think they would be the same.  Help!

Hello @Wendellk, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that the amount of steps recorded by a Fitbit device varies from person to person because the stride length varies from person to person. By default, Fitbit calculates your stride length using your height and sex and in Versa, if you perform runs or walks with GPS, this information is also used to automatically updated your stride length.

Usually, taller people take less steps to reach a destination than short people, so if your wife is shorter than you, she will have more steps during the day than you. Remember that stride length is personal, so if you use her device, the information will sync to her account and might affect the calculation of her stride length.

I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I would agree with you that shorter people would necessarily have more steps than a taller person. My wife is shorter than me and is more active but consequently has a third of the steps less than me for some reason.
