With the new firmware update released last month, we lost the ability to track how long we are working out for. This is a basic and essential tracking feature that was replaced with zone minutes. This is really useless. We already get a breakdown of heart zones from the line graph shown per exercise. Please give us back our active minute tracking or include an option to toggle active or zone minutes.

There is a feature suggestion for this. If you'd like to add your vote you can find it at https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Allow-us-to-choose-between-quot-Active-minutes-q...

I think its not the zone minutes per se but the way they are calculating them which isn't following the industry standard of 70-85% of maximum heart rate (220 minus your age) for cardio. Both cardio and fat burn (which is lower) go towards your active zone minutes but they have them at such a ridiculously high bar no one meets them anymore.
This is a thread with a fix you can apply until they decide if they're going to change things:

Thank you CindiLi for your kind answer, it really meant a lot! We were quite upset with the Active Zone Minutes, no way 112 bpm is below level at age 49. According to your instructions I changed my max heart rate, and it seems that my iOS phone changed too. Surely, the original Active Minutes didn't come back. I voted for the suggestion as well. I sincerely hope it will be brought back as an option.
Who wants to get depressed by their tracker, right?
