Supporting more types of Wifi connection

Hi guys! Is anyone else frustrated that the Fitbit won't connect to the Wifi at work or anywhere where a username/password combo is required (WPA enterprise connections for example)? If i put audiobooks/pocasts on it, i will need to change things on the go, and this would be a mighty useful functionality :).

Help us out if you can, Fitbit!

EDIT: The Versa is lacking hardware for these types of WiFi connections (Thank you to @razerf15 and @fsafari for clarifying this). Leaving the topic open for others who may be wondering.

Hey @Esmeliz, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Versa can connect to open, WEP, WPA personal, and WPA2 personal Wi-Fi networks. Your watch won't connect to 5GHz, WPA enterprise, or public Wi-Fi networks that require logins, subscriptions, or profiles. If you see fields for a username or domain when connecting to the Wi-Fi network on a computer, the network isn't supported. For best results, connect Versa to your home or work Wi-Fi network. Make sure you know the network password before connecting.

That being said, I would suggest you to visit our Feature Suggestions board review this idea, which talks about adding another Wi-Fi connection, like a 5GHz, for example.

On the other hand, t'll be great to have audiobook/podcast app on the Fitbit Versa. I was looking for this other idea I found this one, so please leave your vote and comments on it. The more votes it has, the bigger the chances to be taken into consideration it'll have.

Have a nice day!

Hey @HeydyF 🙂 Thanks for the welcome!

I do know that the fitbit won't connect to those types of WiFi connections, that was the point of the post! 🙂 I was wondering if it could be added in a later update. I will add my comments to the posts you suggested, thank you!

Not possible. It's a hardware limitation.

WPA enterprise needs a specific hardware that Versa does not have?

Thank you to the two respondents above who clarified that this is a hardware issue. Will edit the original post!
