Swim data and Versa turning off during swim

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My versa sometimes turns off in the middle of a swim.  Anyone else have this issue?  It just turned off this AM and now my swim was not tracked at all.  My versa never tracks open water swims (just time, not any distance).

Also I have a friend with the same Versa (bought more recently than mine) and she gets lap by lap data on her swims.  Is this an upgrade or a different setting?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @LaurenMD. I'll be happy to assist you with your Versa turning off while swimming.

Does your watch turn off every time you swim or it only happens sometimes? I would recommend restarting your device and following the steps of help article How do I track my swims with my Fitbit device?

Please let me know if you have more questions.

So it turned off on me a few times when I first got it last August and I reset it and it was good for a while (but I don't swim nearly as much in the winter).  Now it's been doing it regularly.  It just happened again this morning twice!  It'll be on some random screen when I stop to check it.  Today it was on the music screen.  So it seems to be responding to the water hitting it or maybe the buttons on the side are slapping the water and getting pushed?  I did restart it the other day but, like I said, it happened again twice today).  There's no record of my swim so it's not even like it thought I finished and saved it.

I'm coming up on my 1 year warranty so if I need to warranty it I don't want to wait.

thanks!
