Swim mode not turning off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The Versa actually seems to count laps pretty well.......BUT once i have finished, it has proven impossible to get the app to turn off.  I've dried my fingers and the watch face with a towel; i've had another swimmer touch the start/pause icon an nothing has been effective.  I've "stopped" it with a button combination..but then the whole record was lost.

so what gives?

Thanks Elizbit

I tried that but the watch was unresponsive to everything.

Looks like it’s time to contact customer service. I found them very responsive. Good luck.

I've cracked it (or at least it worked this time)!

Screen was still unresponsive, but I pressed the bottom right button which put it into pause, then then the top right which exited the swim.  All perfectly logged!!!

This was literally the only thing that worked for me.   Thank you!

On my Ionic, and at the moment, for both Pause and End, I need to touch the screen in the appropriate place and, next, then also press the adjacent button. Seems bizarre that Fitbit Help does not seem to...help?

That's what worked for me too. Press the bottom right button to pause, then the top right button to exit the swim. It kept my stats.

Thank you Elizbit, that got it out of swim mode, but lost the data. When I try again I will lt everyone know if the problem persists. From the other comments I read, I suspect it will not cure the problem.  Hitting the beach in a ew.

The explanation I was given is that the touch screen is designed to respond to warm skin, and after a swim your skin is too cold...

Mine doesn't work ,wet or dry. However, I did notice that in swim mode there is a period after the pause button that doesn't appear in the other modes.

Cannot get out of swim mode. Been out of the pool for over an hour and I cannot pause or finish the exercise. I have tried a soft reset but no good the only button that appears to be working is the home button on the left

Not sure that I can help but when I press the lower right hand button, it pauses, and then top left gives me the flag to stop the exercise.
When I rang I was told that the screen only responds to dry, warm skin which is why you can't stop it that way.

Don't know if you saw my solution....
I found that if you use the buttons on the side instead of the watch face it worked.
Apparently the face responds to warmth and as your hands are cold when you come out, it doesn't work.
Hope this helps.

I have Fitbit Versa 2 and it has the same issue. To stop swimming mode I need to push and hold the button for several seconds, then it restarts.
