Swimming help - Lap count on watch and stroke recognition

After my first swim using fit bit Versa 2 (or any Fitbit for that matter) I was very disappointed to see that my watch only displayed the time I had been swimming for, and not how many lengths I had done. This I could only see AFTER my swim when I got back to the changing room. What use is that!!? When I run I can see km achieved, and so depending on how much I have done I know to keep going or not.

Why is this not a feature for swimming????
Secondly I was told that the Fitbit has stroke recognition, there is no where on my activity on the app that displays this.

This was a deal breaker for me and so will be looking towards an apple or Garmin as I have been told that both have a lap counter and stroke recognition

And as far as I can tell, you can't get a refund from Fitbit even though you are disappointed with the watch.
