Swimming in the ocean

So far I did not find proper answer anywhere. And marketing articles are so ambiguous. Is it ok to use Versa for swimming in salt water or not?

Ruined my first Fitbit in the ocean and then bought the Versa which says water resistant up to 50 m. Now here I am after multiple times In the ocean, yesterday it completely died while swimming. I was in very shallow water, I’m extremely disappointed. My versa is less than a year old and this is my second Fitbit to break in as many years.

It is ok to swim in salt water with the Versa, but I wouldn't try it.  Salt water contains....well...salt, which can be corrosive.
