Swimming with Versa and Versa 2

Since the Versa 2 does NOT track number of laps I would like to switch back to my Versa 1 for swimming.  Has anyone tried switching back and forth?  Fitbit app won't allow both to be used at once unlike, say, the versa and flex.  However the Versa 1 did not count swimming as active minutes and Versa 2 does.  Would be nice to use both!!! Or...fitbit could make one watch that does both!!

Is the swimming issue addressed with the firmware update.  If not I would like to return the Versa 2 or exchange for Versa 1.
