Hi there, @Durbs1976. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your Versa 2. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products into consideration.

Since you're setting up notifications, you'll need to receive a message from the app desired in order for your app to show it as option in your Fitbit notification's section. For example, tell someone to send a WhatsApp (let's say you're trying to receive WhatsApp messages), then check your Fitbit app and you'll see that WhatsApp is already an option to be selected.

I'd recommend following the steps in the article: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

On a side note, if you're on iOS device and the text message you are not receiving are iMessages, please try toggling the iMessage setting; general > Messages > iMessage and verified the "Show Previews" was on "Always".

Hope this helps.

I'm struggling to get messages too.. doing everything it tells me but nothing from my phone coming through to my watch 😫

Hi, @Sezzie  - make sure your watch is not disabled. Pull down from the edge, and then again.

Click on the 2 white bars to get to Quick Settings and .and sure Sleep and Do not disturb are disabled, also follow the recommendations posted earlier.

If your watch is not syncing well it may be necessary to restart the phone and the watch.

@Sezzie - WiFi is not an issue per se ,as text notifications pass by Bluetooth.

An old firmware could be an issue, if it's never been connected to WiFi, it may have an old version

@Sezzie- if you want to try the free SimpleCheckUp app on your watch it will tell you the firmware version it has, when you last synced and if its connecting to the Fitbit App, directly on the watch, so you don't need to get your phone out.

See also Latest Firmware list to compare your version with the latest.

Only received the watch yesterday so everything is up to date.. wont let me install that checker app though  , I think I've done everything but there is no icon for messages on the fitbit either.

Best Answer

@Sezzie- did it load the new firmware during installation, it would seem not.

You can check on the watch by going to Settings, About and near the top is firmware level. It needs to be at least 35.72.1.9.

Your Fitbit App should b up-to-date though, something like 3.52 or later.

Agreed!!!! Have tried all sorts of things, and still no text notifications from my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Grrrr. I’m over Fitbit products.

Version says 35.70.7.14 so how does it update it? It's says all up to date on it ? It's so confusing. Iv only just had the watch as a present so surely it would be the latest version when I started to load it ?

Best Answer

@Sezzie- thanks - you do have the original version so there might have been a problem during setup if it didn't get connected to wifi.

The check for updates in the Fitbit App Help & Support always says it's up-to-date, really misleading and quite useless.

It should be noted that the watch will only connect to a wifi signal that uses the 2.4 gHz frequency. You will need to get that working before you can install a firmware update.

In the Fitbit App, click profile photo, device photo and at the bottom wifi setup. Every time you use that screen you will need to enter the password. It retains it internally for its own use but manual connection always requires the password be entered.

Probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They can force you the most recent update, otherwise you just have to wait til it turns up.

Also reachable via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support.

You need to make sure your phone is set to send notifications . Just Google it . I was frustrated too but got it work. You need latest update too. There is just alot of going through the settings to get it ready to do this ... Great once it works...

How did you get it fixed?   I have had my Fitbit for about 2 years now and I am now having a terrible time with it!  I cannot get the calls or texts to come through on my fitbit at all anymore.  I'm so aggravated.

Hi @CrystalC1983 , just a possibility,  go to Quick Settings on the watch [pull down from the top once and then again and click the 2 white bars] and make sure sleep and do not disturb are disabled.
