Text messages not showing on Fitbit 3

For the last 2 weeks, I have not been getting text messages on my Fitbit 3. I tried different trouble shooting steps but nothing worked until today. 

These are the steps I took:

1. Un-paired my Fitbit from my phone(Android)

2. Deleted the Fitbit app from my phone 

3. Turned my Fitbit off and then back on

4. Re-installed the Fitbit app

5. Paired Fitbit (as well as Fitbit controls)with my android

6. Reset my permissions

After completing the above, shortly after, I started receiving text messages on my Fitbit.
