I had a pebble and fitbit Alta. I thought the Versa would allow me to wear one only. Yes I wore both. I did the step by step from the book and app. I got text to be able to flash on my Versa but it would disappear after 2 seconds. When I try to pull text down it would say " You are up to date. No notifications". I am sick of battling with this for 4 hours, step by step. Can someone help?

My text messages on my phone never disappear, I'm not talking about the notifications, I'm talking about the actual messages. I can leave the actual messages on my Blaze for days, whether I read them on my phone or not. I still have text messages on my phone that I received a year ago. I know how things work, and the Versa does not work that way. The second you look at the message on your phone, the message itself is deleted on the Versa, that is by design. That is what I don't like about the Versa. The customer should decide when to delete the actual message, if so desired, not have it deleted for you.

Why, then, does the Blaze work differently. I have, on my Blaze, the text messages I have received for the past few days Can read them all, and can also read them on my phone. When I don't want them on my watch any longer, I press the Clear All box, and they go away. I'm done talking about this

@Suelg24 I do not think we understand each other. What you see on Versa is not a message. It is a notification. What you see in the notification drawer on your phone is a push notification. What you see in the text messaging app is your text message. What I meant was: once you open your text message (within your text messaging app), it will clear the notification from the notification drawer and versa. I understand that you would like to store your text message notifications on your Versa, but it is not feasible. Versa was designed to receive notifications from many apps (as many as you enabled). For instance, I can receive easily up to 80 notifications daily. Majority of them actually from various messaging apps. What would happen if they were all stored? There needs to be sync back. And that's how integration between Versa and your phone notification center works. I am sorry it's not what you wanted, but it is what majority wanted - notifications for all apps.

Thanks for explaining it, I still think the customer should be able to decide. I guess I got spoiled with the Blaze, but that is one feature I like , and use. Because that is not the way the Versa works, I am done with fitbit.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. It's nice to see you around @Marrrmaduke, thanks for all your help.
Please note that what many of you are describing is the normal behavior of the app as explained by @Marrrmaduke. I understand this is not the way other trackers worked in the past but keep in mind that our team takes in consideration the feedback provided by our users and this was a request heavily demanded.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, I hope you have a great day.

I have a Versa and IPhone. My messages are flashing on the verse screen for a millisecond and the disappearing. When I check my notifications it’s saying i’m up to date with no new messages, Even though i’ve been unable to open and read it as it only flashed on the screen when the vibration alert came on. Please help? Where are my messages?

It won't get better, return it or sell it. The watch only shows notifications, not messages. It is not really used for messages, mostly for fitness. My long relationship with fitbit ended when they changed the messaging behavior. I have a Blaze, and the messages show up and stay on the watch until I delete them, that's the way I wish it would work but the folks at fitbit decided this was not practical. Stupid

Thanks @Suelg24 but I believe that is not the issue @MrsBrightside is describing. @MrsBrightside, are the notifications still visible on your iPhone (in the notification centre), even after they disappear from your Fitbit?

Hello @MrsBrightside, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @Suelg24, I hope you're doing well. As always, thanks for all your help @Marrrmaduke.
@MrsBrightside, tell me, where are you seeing the message that you're up to date and no new messages are available? When you swipe down while on the clock screen, are you able to see past messages? This information will be very helpful for us to check this further.
@Suelg24, I appreciate you have taken the time to share your feedback about the way Notifcations are currently behaving. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences this situation has caused you, please note that as mentioned earlier, this feature was implemented due to feedback from our Community and users.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding, I hope you have a nice day and a great rest of the week.

@Kangadew Can you please share your phone model and OS? Also, when you press and hold the top right button on your Versa, can you see any notifications there? One more thing, after the notification "disappears" from your Versa, can you still see it in your phone Notification Centre/Drawer?

Hello @Kangadew, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. It's nice to see you around @Marrrmaduke, thanks for your help.
@Kangadew, I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. As @Marrrmaduke, having more information about the phone you're using and the OS running on your phone will be very helpful for us to check this further. Additionally, please keep in mind that if you receive a message, from Whatsapp for example, and you get a Notification on your Versa, once you open the conversation in your phone the Notification will be removed from the Versa, this is the way the watch works.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we'll be waiting to hear from you.

Did you end up figuring out the issue with the disappearing text notification . I understand that after you open it it will disappear and I am fine with that but I get a very quick notification on the screen and it disappears in less than a second and then it says up to date nothing new and there’s no way for me to read that message I have restarted my versa and I have shut off my phone forget device and restarted everything up again it worked the first time and then after I received another text it’s going back to disappearing less than a second after it hits my Fitbit
UPDATE:
did you figure out how to fix this issue. i am about to return this **ahem** at this point! ridiculous! i have tried everything and nothing is working. calls come through fine but texts keep disappearing after a second!
