Text notifications not sending to watch, but everything else works!

I've been researching and honestly exhausting myself with trying to get my text notifications to send to the watch. Everything else is literally working and anytime I go online and look for answers it just keeps saying to make sure all your permissions are turned on. I've literally restarted both the watch and my phone multiple times, I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything, updated everything. I've literally tried everything. I just want to know if this is a "Fitbit" issue with the company and other people are experiencing this and they are working on getting this fixed. Or if I should try to return it and exchange it for a new one. I got it on Christmas and the texts were working just fine for a week or so. What gives?? I've never had a Fitbit but if this keeps continuing i probably won't be keeping it.

Alright, I called them and told them what was going on and this is the email they sent. So they are aware and are working on it. Not sure when it will be resolved but at least we aren't all crazy. This is an issue with both android and iphones.

This was the email they sent me:

"Thanks for letting us know about this issue. We’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

Please let us know if there's anything we can do to assist you in the meantime.

Sincerely,

Moesha and the Fitbit Team

Hi @GinaTreks , it seems that also some Android users are affected with this problem, but this is due to the the new Firmware update and, as far as I can see now, mainly affects Samsung users. Do not know why, but maybe the Tizen layer of Samsung might be the problem now. regards kuzibri

So what can we do to fix it?

@SunsetRunner  thanks for the information. Another reason amongst the many for me not to do this firmware update since I'm a Samsung user.

This firmware update is a complete disaster. 😡

What were the Fitbit developers thinking when they pushed this bug ridden firmware out?  Was this even tested properly to ensure it worked as it should?

I'm having the same problem. I have had my fitbit for over 2 years and have never had a problem before

I was on the phone for 90 minutes tonight and nobody at FitBit could help me. All very unsuccessfully. After removing the app from my phone, reconnecting to Bluetooth, factory resetting and going over the settings with a fine toothed come, I’m at my wits end. I work in a call center where I can’t have my phone on me, and would like my son to be able to get a hold of me when he gets home from school.

Thank you for sharing! Glad to know they are aware and trying to figure it out.  I have had a fit bit for many years now and this is the 1st time I have come into this trouble. Was getting a little discouraged that the problem has gone on for several days now. But feel some better now knowing that they're checking into things.

No updates for this for me at least. I haven't heard anything yet. She did say that it was an issue she didn't know when it was going to be resolved. Hopefully sometime soon but I'll update in here if I hear anything else.

I had the Blaze before upgrading to the Versa.  The update for the Blaze in July caused me to quit receiving text messages.  FitBit gave me a discount to upgrade so I got the Versa.  Everything was working great.  Then in December, the text messages were coming through sporadically.   Then on 1/1/20 they completely stopped.  I did an online chat with FitBit and was told this was an ongoing issue.  I truly believe they will not fix this issue.  It has been going on for several months and continues to affect several users.  My versa is still under warranty and was told that this is not a warranty problem.  My next fitness tracker / smart watch will not be a Fitbit.  I have had a FitBit since early 2014.  That last year, the customer service has declined and so have their products.
