The Fitbit Versa is the new No Man's Sky

Believe it or not, This device has been release at least 6 month before the final release, it seems an alpha version of a really good product. Just look at the design, it seems that the initial project was to have a full screen border-to-border display and a light sensor beneath the screen like the Samsung Gear, but time and money need got it to a smaller decentered square... All the missing features and bugs speaks for the rest. I deeply think that they need to release in a couple of weeks a really big patch to fix every mastodontic fails to the software just save the fitbit stocks, that got well in the first 2 days after the release and now are crashing again... I really think there's some hope for who like me bought this, for now, useless piece of metal.

If not, you can return your watch, because Fitbit will be sold to Garmin or Apple...

He probably has the same issues tons of other people have. Not tracking sleep. Heart rate not working or barely working at all... I’m super disappointed with this thing. My Alta HR has been flawless for a year and I haven’t had one good day with the versa yet. I feel like exchanging it but I have a pretty strong feeling the problems will still be there with a replacement unit.

No matter how many resets, restarts or where I place it on my wrist, the heart rate will barely work. The green light seems to decide to just shut off on its own. Nothing has fixed it.

All of those work fine for me.

I have experience with 2 Versa watches.

I can give you examples of two different and common issues that people are having with the device.

The first arrived from FitBit..  It took 5 hours and multiple calls to support to get it to finally update, and after that, it would not communicate. When the computer would try to sync, the device would be found, and then nothing. Another few hours on support, and the only thing to do was to uninstall, turn off, turn on, restart, re-update, and re-connect, which looses all synced data.  So it won't sync, and it can't sync.

This was with multiple support techs, and hours of work.

That is on its return rout to FitBit.

The second I got from BestBuy. It set up just fine. It communicated just fine. (I was excited)

I left it in the charger, and when I took it off the charger there were extra steps..  I put it as the primary device on the app, and then put it on my non dominant arm at 8-pm.

I sat down to read a book, and by 9-pm, I had a mystery 8K steps added.

So I reset..  that added 200 steps. I did the triple reset, that added steps. I sat in the chair and watched it, and that added steps.

The second Versa is back in it's box and goes to BestBuy, either tomorrow or Friday.

There are whole forum chains regarding not syncing and ghost steps or missing steps.

FitBit moderators are blaming fans, refrigerators, any electrical vibration, including driving a car for these ghost steps. (for those not getting all their steps, the moderators recommend a bit more goose in your step, and swing your arms more).

I am fully aware that most of us on this forum, are here because there is a glitch, and many watches went out that are working.

I am happy for those that received a good device.

If your watch works for you, be grateful, and do not use that as a means to diminish or disbelieve those who are having a very different experience.

I am glad I still have my Alta HR, which has worked from the beginning with no problems.

The Versa..  I am not giving it another shot. I am done.

I did unnstall and reinstall the phone app before I installed the Versa. All functiions (sleep, steps, hr, link to aria 2) all work as flawlessly as they do on my Ionic. Sorry u r having issues.

I would think the vast majority are fine and we don't hear about resolved user error which was my case. Certainly a percentage (Probably small) are defective and usually unhappy folks post more than pleased ones. My charge 2 was very simple so I had no issues, I started out unhappy but once I figured out what I was doing wrong it's great. There are probably as many people returning perfectly good units as are actually defective.
