The screen on my Versa has gone white

I received my Versa as a Christmas gift and today it started with lines going across the top of the screen.  After restarting the device the screen came back on completely white.  After a few seconds the screen will switch to the clock but lines are constantly going through the screen and making it impossible to use.  Please let me know if there are other methods to use to solve this problem.
