My watch is only about 2 months old and it currently isn't allowing the touch screen and swipe to work. My alarm clock goes off every morning and I can't turn it off. I can't check my stats. I can't see my notifications. I'm very disappointed. This is my second Versa and I loved my first one.

Same here.

I have the exact same problem. Watch is stuck in sleep mode, touch screen doesn’t react to anything. Does anybody know what might be the problem here? Touch screen isn’t broken because once the sleep mode is off, it works just fine.

I just purchased mine about 2 months ago, and I've noticed the same issue. I often "locks up". It won't show the clock unless I press the button. Once it does, I can't swipe. Now I've also noticed my sleep reports are off. For example, last night it says that I didn't go to bed until 1:30am, however I know for a fact I was in bed by 10:30pm.

Exact same issues purchase time all the way down to sleep issues

I got my versa 2 as a hand me down from a friend who got a different watch. Worked fine for the first 4 months or so I had it; not sure how long my friend had it before me but now screen does not work. I can’t clear messages or notifications, I can’t swipe the screen or answer/decline calls; nothing . My screen does nothing. I can’t only get the clock to show up ignored I forcefully turn my wrist or push the side button. I can’t shut off alarm unless I push the side button. Does not accurately show my states in the fit app or the steps on my watch as this is all I can see cause I can’t swipe. It occasionally shows the wrong time. Randomly restarts and buzzes. I have tried factory resetting, making sure it’s fully synced with my phone. I did the most recent software update. Loved this up until it took a dump. Any ideas, help would be appreciated!

I purchased my Fitbit back in November and for the last month or so I’ve been having issues with the touch screen not working. It won’t let me switch to see steps or swipe to set an alarm. Has anyone had any fix to it or found out what the issue is? Thanks!

Happens to me often too. The watch seems to crash, reboot, and when it comes back the touchscreen is not working. If I reboot the watch manually it works again. The time may be wrong too until I sync after that.

This only seems to happen in the morning, around the time that I am waking up. I suspect the watch sometimes crashes when I receive a notifcation while the watch (and/or my phone) is in sleep mode. I'm going to try to switch off my bluetooth connection for a few nights and see what happens.

Mine started doing this yesterday also, can't swipe to see apps. Purchased in January & never had a problem until now.

Mine started two days ago also.  I was able to unlock it once by using my phone to unlock it.  A few hours later It locked again on the set up wallet screen.  Pressing the button to reset does not do anything.  nor will the watch synch unless I hook the charger directly up to my computer.

Please everyone, don’t just reply, but vote for this one too so Fitbit sees it getting a good number of votes. Hopefully then they will pay attention to it....

I found out that you can do a factory test through settings, then about. At the bottom is an option for factory reset.

its come to the point that I just do a factory reset about once a week. Then it works for about a week. Once it stops working I just do another factory reset.

This started happening to me out of no where yesterday. The screen is just black and only shows icons when I double click the left button. But none of the icons are responsive. Has anyone figured out the resolution to this??

I called in and they said they had not hear of this issue.  They would need a few more issues from me before an exchange.....

Yes, they told me the same thing. I find it impossible to believe that with
the number of people having this problem that they "have not heard of it".
The last person I spoke with stated that a firmware update had been
released hoping that would resolve the issue. She also offered to replace
my versa 2 under warranty. I asked her to clarify that a little more. Turns
out their "warranty replacement" plan is to replace your versa 2 (which in
my case is in mint condition as I wear a protective case over it.) with a
"slightly used" unit that has been returned to them and "factory certified"
to be working properly.

We all know this means it's been factory reset, wiped with a damp cloth
with some kind of cleaner, and the strap *potentially* replaced with a new
piece of plastic. Then probably tested for all of about 5 minutes.

Well, as I've already stated, I factory reset my versa 2 and it works for
about a week. So their 5 minute testing is only going to ensure that I will
get a slightly damaged unit back instead of my mint condition unit, and it
will work for a week or maybe 2, then I'll have the same problem with a
crappier looking watch. NICE......

Anyway, I'm going to pay off a few other bills then probably switch over to
the samsung galaxy watch. Samsung seems to care more about their customers.

I couldn't find it in settings. Are you doing that on your phone or on the
watch

This is ridiculous.. I have had my Fitbit Lite since December 2019, in February 2020 it started freezing up, I did all the "fixes" and the screen would work for a bit then stop again. They sent me a replacement immediately, they did not request the original device. The new device was received at the end of February. I am now experiencing the same issue, I just finished speaking with an agent that wants me to return this device to them before they will send me a new one. I mentioned how on the forums this seems to be a widespread issue with all their devices. Not cool Fitbit...

@LornaR01 , Sorry to hear you got 2 defective Versa 2's, though from reading these forums, you are not the only one.   If you can get into the settings, try changing the screen wake from auto to manual.  Did that over a week ago and haven't had a problem with it since.  Mine was just about unusable before I did this.

Other than having to manually turn on the screen(push the button or tap the screen) It works great now. I've read at least 2 other comments were this change has worked... It's worth a try. Good Luck.

Nothing I've tried has moved from the set up wallet screen.it locked the day before on the stopwatch I was using the stopwatch cooking dinner and I went in and set a pin number for the first time and that unlocked it however I've gone in and tried to change the PIN number and anything else I can think of to try and get the watch to do something.
