Tips to solve discomfort while wearing the Versa series

Then I may have your solution!  I have had a Versa since January 2020.  Previously I've had an Alta HR and a Flex before that.  The entire time I've had blisters form under the watch face that burst & become red, raw spots that are painful.  As a side note, I can't wear the silicone bands or I keep a rash under them, so I have several bands I can wear to switch things up.  This isn't about that, so if you have blisters or rash underneath the band check out some of the different types of bands available online.  The breathable fabric type are wonderful for around the house.  Then I also have pretty ones in different metal finishes/colors for dressier looks.  I even found matching face frames on Amazon that match my bands, so all I have to do is snap the face of the watch in and out of the metal face frames that stay attached to my different bands.

When I wear the Versa I begin to itch & burn underneath the face of the watch.  That's when the blisters form. It doesn't matter how tight or loose the band is.  It doesn't matter how often I take the watch off when sitting down to give the skin air.  It doesn't matter how careful I am that no moisture gets trapped between me and that watch face.  I've tried Cortisone cream. I've tried cornstarch powder. If you can think of it, I've tried it.

What I started noticing was that there are two spots where the charging port touches down on my wrist when I rotate my hand.  That is the two points where the blisters form.  I know that I have expensive ears.  I can only wear precious metal earrings like gold, silver or platinum. Anything else breaks my earlobes out.  The burning I experience on my wrist is very similar to the type of burning on my earlobes when I have tried to wear cute, but cheap earrings.  Since the charging port is causing the issue I figure it's got to be a metal allergy.

The solution is simple. When I charge my Versa I wipe the back down good with alcohol.  After it's charged I place a piece of clear Scotch Tape over the back of it.  If find it's much more comfortable if cut with scissors.  The cutter on the tape itself leaves that scratchy scalloped edge.  After one week the raw spots had healed to the point that they no longer hurt.  After three weeks the spots were gone.  That tells me there is definitely an allergy to the metal used in the charging port.  Hopefully if you're like me and have looked without finding any answers or suggestion that work for you, then you'll give this simple solution a try, and hopefully it will allow you to enjoy your Fitbit pain free.
