Welcome to the Fitbit Community @ShanaBarksdale .

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that your Fitbit Versa is tracking too many active minutes. The active minutes are awarded when the activity you're doing or logging is more strenuous than regular walking. For more information about how the active minutes are calculated, please see this help article: What are active minutes?

If you haven't done so, I'd like you to restart your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your device internally.

If the issue persists, please let me know if you notice this during some type of activity. I will be glad to investigate further.

Please keep me posted!

My sisters step number is twice as many as mine and we’ve walked the same distance. Why?

I’m not sure why. I was instructed to power off my device to see if that helps. I hope to see if it works on tomorrow to get an accurate picture. I hope this was helpful.

Welcome to the forums @LSwank1! Thank you for your reply @ShanaBarksdale.

@LSwank1 thank you for joining the conversation and sharing your concern regarding the accuracy of your tracked steps and distance compared to your sister's stats. Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. If you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, I recommend confirming the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Fitbit devices calculate distance by multiplying your walking steps and walking stride length. Similarly, your running steps are multiplied by your running stride length. Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How do I measure and adjust stride length for my Fitbit device?

@ShanaBarksdale I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts and hope you continue enjoying your device without any issues.

I'll be around.
