I went on a 3 mile walk with my dogs today. This is the first time I have done this. When I have gone on walks before I track the activity. I did the same today and for some reason it's not showing up. But the steps I took are. Has this happen to anyone else. And how can you retrieve the activity?

Accepted Solutions

Open your Fitbit app and check your privacy settings. Go to social and sharing, and allow average daily step count to be seen by your friends. Mine was locked, which must have happened with the last update.

Hi @AishaViera - it should still show up in exercise as an activity once you have synced the watch fully. But if the watch had stopped syncing there is not way to track the walk on the phone, using it's GPS.

To start a clean situation logout of the Fitbit App and restart both watch and phone. see also

I’m getting the same thing. It’s showing my steps, miles, etc… But when I click on the “friends“ tab, it shows me as having no recent activity.

Hi @scapr68 - in your case, logout of the Fitbit App, clear the storage cache, force stop it and swipe off the active Fitbit App window, if you can. Restart the phone and this may clear the error.

Thank you, but I’ve already done all of that. And I spent 30 minutes on the phone with Fitbit Support this morning. Luckily, I just figured it out myself.

I have had the same problem since Sunday, no tracking of my activity but steps are in there.  I have called the help desk, have actually changed fitbits because they said, mine was no longer functioning and when I read this, I thought, okay this might be the problem. They had me factory reset (I thought everything would be gone but it was not from the day).  I checked and my social and sharing is not blocked.  Any other ideas?  The help desk, I'm sorry are more interested in getting great surveys.  I even got one here before I finished this post.  Very disappointed in their help. the community has helped me before so now I am turning to you again.  Jo-Ann

Hi

@Joneill119  - in your case you may have a problem in the app. You can check this on your Versa 2.

On your watch swipe up to get to your Today view and see if the information is there, it should be after a factory reset but if not scroll to the bottom and change the setup.

In the Fitbit App, logout and login and click Edit with the green popup.

Remove the goal or tile that isn't working properly and add it again, or add it if it is missing and click Done.

Then sync the watch by a pull down on phone display.

Did all you suggested. Still no activity. Had no problems until last
Monday, April 10. Since then activity and stairs do not work on app. On
device the hourly steps do not work but works on app. but No help from
Fitbit help desk.

@Joneill119 - did you restart the watch again?

Turn off all other Bluetooth devices if you use tablets as well as phone.

Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window and in Android clear the storage cache and force stop it and then restart the phone.

Login again and wait for any pair, link or Fixit prompts and sync with a pull down on the phone display.
