Tracking heart rate with tattoo solved?

Hi, I have been plagued by the issue with the Versa and the Hr sensor not working when positioned over my dark tattoo. Luckily I have a position on my arm where it just works. Really wish I had not purchased the Versa, should really come with a warning.

Tried the epoxy sticker trick, yea that's a waste of time.

However, there may be a fix already built in tot the watch, the SPO2 sensor.

I download an app called Fibri Check. It's an ECG app which has a free trial.

Whilst trialing the functionality I had my versa positioned over the dark tattoo, higher up my arm than where I normally wear it.

When the app was taking its reading it was able to work successfully. Captured my heart rate/reading no problem.

I was confused and tried the the watch without the app running in the same location. It did not read my heart rate.

I then ran the Fibri Check app again and noticed it was using the red and green light sensors. Again, positioned back on my arm over the tattoo it worked.

This app uses both the red and green light sensor, by doing so it can capture heart rate through drak tattoo ink.

Fitbit/Google - please, please, please test and verify my findings and release an update that will use the SPO2 sensor on the Versa to capture heart rate. Will make a lot of unhappy customers happy again.

Hello @Tiaeroass and welcome to the Help forums.  Fibri Check is only available in a few countries.  If you can't find it in the App Gallery, it isn't available in your location.

@Chez1982  The UK isn't on the country list on this FibriCheck page.  You might want to bookmark this page for future reference.  BTW, the Ionic was recalled by Fitbit.  If you still have lying around, you can get a full refund.  The information you need is here.
