Traveling with your fitbit

Hey fitbiters I got a question for ya! I’m traveling to Portugal and want to bring my Fitbit with me. I know I need an adaptor but would I need a voltage converter as well if I were to use the square piece off the iPhone charger? The iPhone charger is dual voltage and will convert it for me automatically for charging my iPhone so long as I have an adapter so I’m wondering if it would do the same with the Fitbit. Any one traveled from from :canada: or the :united_states: to Portugal and brought their Fitbit with them??

Hi, @Shirley_marie, I regularly travel between North America and Europe with my Fitbits and can confirm that you will not need any converter.  If you have a cell phone plug that accepts a USB that you use to charge your phone, you can also use that to charge your Fitbit.  No worries.

I personally take mine off when I go through airport security, although I know others report wearing them with no issues.

I would also recommend temporarily turning off "auto timezone"  to avoid the issue of your Fitbit "jumping over" midnight when you change timezones.  If your Fitbit resets its timezone without reaching midnight your steps won't reset for the day and will be carried over to the next day.  When you are ready to sync (after midnight!) you can turn auto timezone back on again.  Hope this makes sense.

Ok great! I was hoping it would work that way as I have a few extra iPhone cubes lying around and now I just need an adapter.
