Tried to repair my Versa 2, it was a catastrophe

I have a drawer full of dead Fitbits. Charge 2s, Versa Lites and Versa 2s. My last Versa 2 died just a few weeks ago just like all the previous ones (waterproofing failed - no swimming or showering, just the usual water exposure like washing cars, dishes, sweat).

One of the Versas had issues with the touchscreen, the other with the sensors but both still turned on and charged, so I thought of making a good one out of the 2. I'm not an expert but I have taken apart plenty of iPhones so I assumed this was going to be relatively easy. Took the Versa with the good sensors and plugged the screen from the other one. It died, it vibrates but doesn't turn on anymore. Trying to mix and match and reassemble them with their original parts was no good either. So I essentially killed both. Nothing lost, they were bad to begin with, but if you want to attempt this yourself, it's not worth it, especially if you have to pony up for replacement parts.
