Trip to Spain stopped my Versa 2 Lite working

I live in Scotland and recently had a trip to Spain. Before I went, my versa 2 lite was working perfectly and I was very happy with it. A couple of days after arriving in Spain, the watch needed recharging so I plugged it in using my usual charging arrangement - a UK 3 pin plug and the fitbit charging cable. The only difference was I had to use a converter to be able to use the Spanish sockets. I had done this 18 months previously with no problem.

This time, though, when I charged it the heart rate was not registering and the watch was discharging in less than a day - it had been 4 to 5 days beforehand.

Now that we are home, it is still the same and nothing I do seems to work. I have followed the fitbit recommendations but have had no luck. Do I throw it in the bin or is there something else I can try?

PS I should say that the green lights I used to see when taking the watch off are no longer showing. There seems to be no activity at the back of the watch
