Unable to connect Versa to my Galaxy S5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have gone through all steps over and over, but my Versa will not communicate with my Galaxy S5 android phone via WiFi or Bluetooth.  It will not pair with Bluetooth at all and gives me the message..."unable to communicate with Versa".  The Fitbit app will not even show any WiFi connections so am unable to connect to it either.  I have read everything and tried everything and absolutely can't get it to work.  I am able to get it connected to my laptop as well as my Samsung Tablet.  At this point do I just need to send it back and get something else?

UPDATE:  I just got off the chat with Fitbit support.  I was told....after trying all sorts of things.....that it was an issue with the app and my phone so it would have to be sent to a higher department and they would contact me.

Have they contacted you yet?  Mine won't work either.  It will connect with my tablet but not my phone

Yes, they did contact me.  They also had me do a million different things that I pretty much had already done over and over.  They also had me send pics of error messages and then I even had to send a video of me doing what they were asking and NOTHING worked.  After all that, this is the response that I received:

"After exhausting all possible troubleshooting steps, and investigating your Fitbit Versa's syncing situation with your Android device, we would like to let you know that we've added a ticket number to your account so our engineers are aware that you're one of the customers that are experiencing this syncing difficulties. Rest assured that we keep working very hard to solve this situation as soon as possible, since we really want you to enjoy the notifications feature on your Versa. We know for sure how important is getting a notification when someone is calling you or texting. "

They said it has to be a problem with my phone which just so happens to be on their list of approved phones. (Galaxy S5)  And because it works with my tablet and my laptop that they can't send me a new one.  So I spent $200 on an item that wont even work for some of the main reasons that I bought it. Looks like all I can do is spend hundreds more dollars on a new phone. 😞

Did it ever properly sync with your phone? If it did and now it does not then I would give them an opportunity to fix it (however unlikely that may be) but if it never worked you absolutely should be able to return it especially because it is on their list of compatible phones. The Versa did not work with my Phone but did work with my Wife´s phone. They are both Android phones. Our pebble watches and WearOS watches worked perfectly with all our Android phones. It is easy to see the problem is with the Versa.

That is rather crappie!  I have the same phone and am having the same problem.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

No, it never was able to work with the phone.  But, since it has taken over a month to figure out for sure that it wasn't going to work, I don't think I am able to send it back.  Although, I did not ask them.

Sorry to not have any better news.  But you should probably report it to them so that they will keep getting records from people who are having problems and then hopefully they will be able to do something to fix it.  Or at least that is what I am hoping for!

I am sorry to hear that. The Versa I bought for myself that did not work
with my phone. I gave it to my wife (and it worked with her Motorala G5
Plus) died after less than six months from a faulty battery and we decided
not to replace it with another one.

Are you able to sync it now? Did you have trouble when you first set it up? I have a Galaxy S5 and cannot even get it to sync to set it up

I have a S6 and have tried everything that has bee suggested to fix the issue ans it still does not send text messages. It is pairs with bluetulooth but nothing shows up for text or phone calls. I hat a fitbit Alta HR and had not issues receiving twxt or phone calls.

Sure hope this gets resolved soon!!!

Sadly, I was never able to get it to sync. I ended up having to get a new phone. None of the techs could ever figure out what the issue was. Just said it had to be my specific phone.

My fitbit synced for the last time on December 20th. Checked the manual, went online and followed all instructions to get it up and running with no luck. Finally contacted customer support last week and after about an hour on the phone with them, was told that my phone was no longer supported by the fitbit app. Not only am I totally disgusted with fitbit, that they would do this, but also, that no one notified me that this was going to happen. I have a Samsung S5 which operates perfectly in every way, so I see no need to get a new phone. As I told the fitbit agent, my choices are to either get a new phone or quit using my fitbit. You can be certain that the fitbit will be the one to go. My fitbit is now just a piece of junk. I hope others see this and realize that the same can happen to them when fitbit decides to quit supporting their phone.

EllieO,

Same thing here. I am fit to be tied. My S5 is working fine, better than ever, and I made the mistake of uninstalling the Fitbit app in an effort to refresh it. Now it won't let me reinstall it.

Whether I need a new phone or not is not  the issue, it's being railroaded into buying something I don't need. Fitbit can go to hell.
