Unable to connect headphones with Versa Lite

I purchased a Versa lite for my daughter and we are trying to connect the headphones. I have the first gen Versa so I went through the normal steps and it just flips through "off," "on," "pair". Am I missing something? Am I in the wrong place? My first gen you simply go to bluetooth in settings and hit "+audio device." This option does not come up on my daughter's lite. Please help!

To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which headphones are you trying to connect?
