Unable to see historic data on the Fitbit app

Today when I went into the Fitbit app on my phone it said it was doing a data base update. That hung so after several hours I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. Now I can only see today’s data even after resyncing the watch. How can I get my historic data back, even last weeks?

Hi @GrahamWimbleton. Welcome! It's great to have you on board.

Thanks for sharing detailed information about the Fitbit app update and for the steps tried on your own. I'll help you to get your historic data displayed again. Before anything else, I'm wondering if you're totally sure you're not using two different accounts when trying to log into your new phone? This happened to me once, I thought I was logging in with the right account but I wasn't, I put a similar one since the only difference was a letter in between. So, I'm assuming this would be the case and everything will work since your Fitbit device is setup in your new account but your previous data will not be displayed there.

Would you mind verifying this? To do that, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Fitbit app in your phone and tap on your profile's icon.
  2. In the Privacy and Security section, tap Security and Login.
  3. Under "Change Email" you'll see the email that is currently linked to your Fitbit account.

Trying to verify if this is the original email you used to use with your app. If it doesn't, try logging out and logging back in by using the correct email.

Look forward to your comments.

Thanks.

I had already worked out that I have two email addresses linked to two Fitbit accounts and I was logged in with the wrong one for the watch data.

The second account is for Aria scales.

Is there a way to merge that account (hotmail) with my watch account (gmail)?

Regards,
Graham

Hi @GrahamWimbleton. I hope you're doing well.

Thanks for keeping me posted and confirming that you have two Fitbit accounts created. I'm glad that you were able to find your data and let me explain that currently isn't possible to merge both into a single account. I'm sorry for this situation and my best advice is to set up your watch and Aria scales in one of your accounts so you can keep a track of your progress.
