I did the new update on my phone....it wasn't having any problems but I couldn't figure something out so I did a factory reset (dumb, I know) - now on my watch all I have is the FitBit symbol and a message that says "to start, download fitbit app".
I restarted both my phone (Google Pixel) and my watch, turned off and on the bluetooth, deleted the watch from my fitbit app and from bluetooth devices, - nothing helped. What should I do now?

Hello @AmyW1967, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for troubleshooting your device prior to posting. Because you did a factory reset, you need to setup the Fitbit Versa Lite again as it was new. Therefore, I recommend you to uninstall the Fitbit app and then check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? to verify that all the requirements are correctly configured for you to setup the device.
Then, if you experience difficulties, please move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Non of the set-up steps seem to be working...I have
1. turned my phone off and on
2. Uninstalled and reinstalled FitBit app
3. Turned Bluetooth off and then back on
4. I have unpaired FitBit and now it won't pair back up
The entire time I have done all of these steps
the only thing on my FitBit is the FitBit symbol.
Any ideas?
