Hi,
I had issue with the notification in Fitbit Versa special edition. I can peer with One plus 6T and looking good. But I can't receive any notification. They to enable the notification on apps. It's showing the below error.
" Notification service is not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notification on your tracker".
I restarted both my phone and watch. No luck, any suggestions or anything I am missing???
Thanks in advance..
Regards,
Rk

@Rk6 It means then the process is getting killed by Android. Actually, I should re-phrase - the notification service is getting killed by Oxygen on OP. You can try locking the app in the background as described above, or you might have to downgrade to 2.74 where you can enable Keep Alive Widget within the fitbit app.

Sorry @NellyG I will cut in here. As a big fan of OP and an owner of OP3T I can say it works. The issue is with the OP killing of the Notification service as it does with many other background process. You can try several things:
If you still are having issues with the notifications, please do the following:

Hi
Thanks for your input.
It really helps by removing the battery optimisation. I can get the notification.
It is working for 1 hr or 2 hrs and again it's not working. I have to restart the mobile every time to get the notification.
Is there is any other way or I am missing something?
Regards,
Ranjit

- Make sure Fitbit mobile app is not being optimized by Android (Android settings>Battery>Optimization>Fitbit needs to be marked as not optimized). If you're on Pie, go to Android settings>Apps>Fitbit>Battery
- You may need to lock the app in the background by using screen pinning. Please see my post here.
- If everything fails and sync/notification service is still not stable, downgrade fitbit mobile app to version 2.74.2.
If you still are having issues with the notifications, please do the following:
- Turn OFF the Notifications in your Fitbit mobile app and on your Versa, reboot your phone and Versa, and turn the notifications back ON on both devices.
- Make sure the notifications are ON on your Versa. Press and hold the left button to access quick menu. Turn the notifications to ON.
- In the Fitbit mobile app, make sure you enabled the notifications and that Fitbit notification service is enabled in your phone settings. It needs to be ON.
- If your phone is in DND or silent mode, make sure Always vibrate option is enabled in your Fitbit mobile app. Also, it's always a good idea to toggle on/off notifications in the Fitbit mobile app with sync in-between.
- Make sure that any app you would like to receive notifications for on your Versa has the push notifications priority set to at least HIGH (this can be done in the Android settings>Notifications). Please see my post here for more info.
- Make sure All-day sync, Always Connected are enabled in the Fitbit mobile app. Make sure to sync after enabling them.
