I am trying to connect my versa to my computer to put music onto it. I got it to work yesterday, but I have had an issue that the computer will never find the watch. It is not working today. Why wont it find my versa. My versa is connected to the same internet connection as my computer.

Hello @Andrew_Nelson, I hope you're doing well, it's great to see you around. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this situation to my attention, have you restarted your Versa already by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen? If so, please plug your watch into the charger and make sure it’s in range of your Wi-Fi network. For a stronger Wi-Fi connection, move your watch closer to your router.

If you're still unable to transfer music to your Versa and as your Versa and your computer are connected to the same network, I would like to suggest you the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Sync your Fitbit watch with your dashboard:
    • From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon > Versa
    • Tap or click Sync Now and wait a few moments for your watch to sync.
  3. Restart your watch once again.
  4. Open the Music app on your watch and then tap Transfer Music
  5. Remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and try again to download your playlists.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Hi

I have the same issue and tried your provided suggestions, but wtihout the desired outcome. The fitbit connect app is still trying to find my Versa. Such a missed oppportunity why you can't add music through the (or a ) android app.

This worked perfectly! Thank you so much for your help!

This worked for me as well.  Perhaps Fitbit should add restarting the watch as a fifth item to perform on the fitbit connect app.

Same here - very disappointed already hating this Fitbit and wish I hadn't purchased it. Only did it because old Charge HR died. Should have just got a cheaper Fitbit and not bothered with Versa. 😔

Why do you (and Fitbit) say "turn off the blue tooth to your PHONE"?????  When you have to be on a COMPUTER at this step.  VERY VERY confusing and FItbit does the SAME THING in their instructions.

 For shame guys!

Oh GOD yes.  HATE this stupid stupid watch.  Doens't do ONE thing as advertised for me. Won't connect to bluetooth, has never recognized a network, has never seen me as asleep apparently.

Then there's the "help" which tells you to turn phone on and off when you have to be on a computer. Etc etc etc

 What a **ahem**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buying another Garmin and I'll never buy Fitbit again.

Yep I feel the same MLB007!! should have paid the extra $100 and bought an Apple watch - I wanted the Fitbit Versa for the fitness stats - but it doesn't always pick up my sleep either and I'm sure its not registering sleep patterns properly... the glass is getting scratched but NO-ONE sells screen protectors for Fitbit had to buy it online and any accessories. I don't bother trying the music function it doesn't work. Doesn't always sync properly. Apps for it are crap. Not very happy with the Versa and regret my purchase - alot of money for something so disappointing! Maybe I might look into a Garmin too...

This is insane - what is the point of connecting the Versa to the computer with a USB cable if Bluetooth and WiFi are still required? Tethered to the computer three ways and Fitbit Connect STILL cannot find the watch?? All the above suggestions have proved fruitless. I just bought this today, and it’s going back promptly if I cannot put music on it.

Such a bad user experience. Honestly can't believe that this issue has not yet been addressed as it was raised as soon as the Versa was released. I've followed the above instructions multiple times and cannot get the Fitbit Connect app to find my watch. I did manage to get it connect once about 12 months ago but it took forever to transfer only a small number of tracks. Thought I'd try again as it would have been handy whilst travelling but, alas, the same experience and issues persist. Very poor. I honestly don't have the time to troubleshoot this to death, imo these things should 'just work'; Like Apple, e.g.

To be fair to Fitbit, TRY the customer support.  Mine walked me through attempting to setup and then told me it was not working correctly and sent me another watch that DOES do all the things it's supposed to! (sleep tracking still iffy)

Yeah I did these steps multiple times with still no result. For it being for a device as mobile a watch, it sure makes 0 sense as to why you felt the need to make it on accessible through the desk top software and not the mobile app. The entire reason I bought the Versa was to have music on my watch. Now the only feature I was interested in isn't the only one that doesn't work.

I totally agree, I found that "phone while on the computer" very frustrating.

Fitbit needs to spell it out.  Your instructions are way too ambiguous.

Take some screenshots and post it step-by-step like Adobe or hire an illustrator like me to help you communicate.

I tried what you said and it still not working. It wont let me add picture to the photo watch face either.  May return and get something better if issues are not resolved.

I have the same problem.  It has always been fiddly to select songs etc in the past but now my computer cannot locate my watch when it comes to transferring music.  I have tried all of your suggestions but nothing works.  My watch is showing as connected when I look at bluetooth on my computer settings, it has no trouble syncing but it will not connect to my watch when I go into music.  I have reset my watch, I have deleted then added from bluetooth settings on my computer, I have deleted then added my WIFI address in music network settings.  Please advise.

only thing I can suggest is any previous bluetooth linked devices should be
removed and then powered off. If it finds any old connections it won't
work.
That 'seems' to be most of the problems.
Good luck.

PS - Call Fitbit and have them go through setup. It helps a lot.

I'm currently dealing with the same issue myself. honestly this is an unacceptable defect. your company needs to play nice with Windows and make sure there are no issues recognizing the watch. I didn't spend money on this item to have to deal with software problems. it should work out at the box with no further complications. and seeing as I'm most certain sure that this is in fact a software issue it's something your company could fix with further updates.

well it might not be working because some computers don't allow for music, etc to be transferred from the internet for security if so I would change that setting
