I am trying to connect my versa to my computer to put music onto it. I got it to work yesterday, but I have had an issue that the computer will never find the watch. It is not working today. Why wont it find my versa. My versa is connected to the same internet connection as my computer.

Any chance we are having issues because our blue-tooth headsets are connected? I couldn't have the app connect with my watch but suddenly it worked, right about the time I noticed my headset powered off due to lack of use.

I am using windows 10. In my case I when I click on Personal Music it says to download the desktop app from fitbit.com. Any other app like pandora and Deezer work. It is just the Music app that is giving me trouble. Any other suggestions?

I`ve been working on it honesty for almost three hours. I really want to transfer my own music to the watch. Nothing has worked!!

I have tried many times over the past few months with no success.  I have tried all the suggestions, but they don't work.  Very disappointing.  It was the main reason I bought a smart watch, I wouldn't recommend a Fitbit to anyone because of this.

Have you got this to work? My window 10 surface pro just keeps looking for my versa 2.

I have a Mac and no luck transferring music--computer won't even find the watch--I sort of like this watch but really got it to have music on the watch for long walks etc.  Very frustrating--Apple Watch is too much stuff--just wanted a good fitness tracker with music--anything anyone can recommend?

Thanks--CW

And oh by the way--I have had the Apple Watch which worked well just not my cup of tea--the Garmin Venu Sq and Venu--neither of which would connect to my wifi for music transfer--very frustrated at this point.

Hi, Dec 2020 and this issue is still happening. I tried your steps, but nope still a connection issue.

reading the threads, multiple users had the same issue, and th eonly fix, seemed to be sending out another watch. But surely an update would work.

The fitbit connect app perhaps should 'talk' to the phone app and then upload from to versa2 from there?

Computer can't find the device. Teases with 'do you want to pair' every other attempt and then says can't.

another thing -when theres wifi, the phone app says it's connected to the same network as my laptop, so ???

Also why  does the versa 2 keep losing the wifi connection? Surely it should be connected once it is. then a notification should pop up to say out of range/connection lost. Frankly a notification asking to connect would be good, either on phone or on the versa 2 (ideally)

Lastly - arotating screen? For the lefthanded people who wear the watch on the right wrist but are forced to keep the button on the left ...

Seems an easy win

3.5 years later, and the issue still isn't resolved. Looks like Fitbit will keep claiming you can use music but not putting any effort into it. If this isn't fixed very quickly, I'll be switching to Garmin or a competitor soon, one who can take care of their customers. One last shot to call their customer service, and then Fitbit can take a hike.

I had been on the original Versa from May 2018 until last month (September 2021). Just to share, I too had trouble getting music onto my original Versa but did manage it, I think in the summer of 2019, but I really struggled to do it, the transfer was excruciatingly slow, and some of the tracks didn’t successfully transfer during the bulk operation, which I only ever got to work once. I forget now whether I used my Windows 8.1 PC and the dongle leftover from my Flex 2 (I’m pretty sure I could at one time connect the Versa to that dongle, if inconsistently, but by the end the Versa was no longer listed as a device compatible with the dongle) or if rather than the PC I managed the music transfer using my wife’s very old and un-updated MacBook. I did use the music on the watch a handful of times (they were military running cadences). So, I can confirm that the original Versa could in fact have personal music transferred to it and used, but the software and connection were so unreliable and random that I can’t say why that one time it worked despite many other failed attempts spanning years both before and after that one time it actually worked (and even then, only sort of worked, because some of the tracks were still missing on the watch).

I know that’s not much help, but if it’s of any help at all to anyone out there still trying to play around with this feature, I thought it was worth sharing.

If still not working, try removing and re-installing the wartch to your account using ther fitbit phone app, which will also force you to re-enter the wireless network password - this is the only thing that worked for me

Like @rlithgow, I also have a Fitbit Versa, which I got in December of 2018. More than once, I have added music to it. The overwhelming majority of the time, this frustrating process has worked, although it took a lot of fiddling around. I found that I have had the highest success rate on a computer running Windows 10, although it has worked on my Mac. Fitbit also says to turn off the phone and computer bluetooth, although I am not sure if that affects the process because it has worked for me with and without bluetooth on. Forcing the use of the device's IP address and restarting the watch, as @MarcoGFitbit suggested, has also helped.

This video is quite helpful for the basic process, although the guy does not seem to have any problems connecting, unlike what people in this thread have experienced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmbUJwbEQDo

Also, I don't understand why everyone is dissing the watch. Other than the slight issue with the music, I have had no other problems with the watch, which is the same quality but cheaper than the Apple Watch. I do have to agree, though, that the "phone while on the computer" is kind of confusing.

GOT IT TO WORK by removing the device from my app and readding it!

then it couldnt find all the songs i had added to it prior so i had to wipe it all and transfer them all from scratch x)

my best advice is to transfer as Much as possible when it works, you never know when it does NOT work again. put on some holy music perhabs pray abit to whatever god you worship while its connected.

HOLY MOLY what a mess using this thing is. why can i not just transfer music via the USB wire i charge it with? imagine how much easier that would be!

if two people are telling you to walk over to them at the same time, who are you going over to? its the same thing with the watch. Bluetooth has to be off on your phone in order to connect to your computer as it sets both as a high priority and gets itself confused.

I finally gave up on Fitbit's quirky software and went to Garmin after being a loyal Versa customer for 4 years. Fitbit is not spending any time or effort to correct this issue and probably never will. I hated losing all my Fitbit stats but 3 months into using Garmin I am so much happier with this new system. The watch shows as a drive in Windows and you can simply add or delete mp3's all day long without standing on one foot, balancing a plate on your head, and clicking your heels in a vain hope the software will work without issues.

Tried that...  standing on one foot, balancing a plate on your head, and clicking your heels... still doesn´t work. Now what. I was hoping I could add some never get bored of music to my versa 2 before they shut the feature down. I guess I´m out of luck.

For me, I think it is my internet connection. I even had a new Fitbit sent to me (under warranty) and same issue.  I did connect when I first got my 1st watch so had music on it but when I went to update my playlist it didn’t work. Fitbit suggested hard reset so I lost any music I had on my watch

That sounds a little odd. I have not had problems with connecting it to WiFi per se. When I have problems with WiFi, it is the router that is the issue, not the watch based on my observations, but I could be wrong. I hope that you eventually figure it out, and you can refer to some of my tips on how to do so from an earlier post of mine.
