I have been trying to get an answer from Fitbit for months now. Since Google made their update after purchasing Fitbit, I have not been able to use Fitbit Pay or Google Wallet on my Versa 2.  I keep getting the same error message (An unexpected error occurred, please try again later).  It wont even let me sign in.  The Fitbit customer service gave me the worst run-around and then sent the following email:

Hi Ashley,
Thanks for letting us know about this issue.
We apologize for the delay, due to high demand, it may take a bit longer than usual.
We’re aware of it, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future.
We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers. We understand that this isn't the resolution you're hoping for, but rest assured we're always working to improve our products.
We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

and then they completely closed my case.  How are you helping if you completely close the case and have no intent to get back to me on the issue?

@Ladybug.22 when you log into fitbit. Do you log in with an email address. IE: somebody@Gmail.com, or another address?

Or do you log in with Google? This is a Charge 6 and you should be logging in with Google.

Are you logging pay into the same google account that you use for logging into fitbit?

My issue is connecting my google pay account to Fitbit.  When I go into the Fitbit application and select “google wallet,” and then select the account I want to sign into, I get the error message “an unexpected error has occurred, please try again later.”  I don’t even get the option to select a card, because it will not allow me to sign into my google wallet.

Is your Fitbit app up to date. Checking with my PEs I've been told that the update  4.13 was suppose to fix this

I don’t see any updates available through the apps store.  I opened up the help section if the Fitbit app and it shows as 4.13.

I was unable to get Google Wallet to work on Charge 6 after Charge 5 stopped working. After going round and round with support they ended email with Google Wallet not supported on Charge 6 only with Charge 5 (Charge 5 used Fitbit Pay not Google Wallet) contact Fitbit support with any other questions. I responded with a screenshot from Official Fitbit page advertising Google Wallet available on Charge 6. Returned Charge 6 and going with different brand.

I’m having the exact same problem. I’ve set my Versa to factory settings. Created a new account. Basically started from scratch and still getting the error message. So frustrating. I’m on a iPhone 14.

Turns out Google Wallet doesn't work with IPHONEs.

After 6 years of using a Fitbit, it looks like I have to move to an IWATCH. It's very disappointing that they would do that! And now it limits us. I'm not changing my phone, so that leaves my watch.

I was told this is happening to everyone and they are working on it.

I’m getting this exact same error message.

Versa 3, iPhone 15 Pro.

Seriously considering moving my watch to an Apple Watch so as to be enable to use all the functions. Why say that people can use something if they can’t?!

Exact same problem here, Versa 2. Later is a relative term, it would appear. And then product management wonders why their watches aren’t selling?

I have the same issue. I asked for support, and they did the usual "reboot, reset, update..."

After wasting some time, they told me that it's a know issue and they are working to fix it.

It was 8 months ago, and they still didn't fix it.

I can't change to Google Wallet, I can't use Fitbit Pay anymore, it doesn't work!

Android, Versa 2, everything updated to latest version.

I have an identical issue. I too have contacted support and had my case shut... Fitbit pay worked perfectly before updating to wallet. I have one of their accepted cards working on Wallet on my phone, it just won't add it to the watch. I'm fed up... over a month and can no longer use the watch to pay like I used to be able to
