Hi there,
I came across a website that has great black Friday sales on various fitbit. The site looks good but the deals are too good to be true. Has someone tried it out. Is it legit?
Thanks

Hello there @TattooMama21. I'm sorry to hear this happened to you as well. The url you mentioned is not one of our authorized retailers. Thanks for already contacting your bank to revoke the transaction.
Hi @Mikels and @Annewber4950, I totally understand where you come from. As we have recently advised you, since the Fitbit wasn't purchased directly from us, but from a unauthorized store, we cannot help you to revoke the transaction. If you have already contacted PayPal or your credit card company, please keep the conversation with them.
Hello @MarkMM, thanks for stopping by. We recommend making your purchases directly from fitbit.com, or consulting this page to verify authorized Fitbit retailers.

They've setup a new scam website fitbitsport dot com to defraud customers.
Please take action to have this site removed

As mentioned earlier, @alotzkar - since that is not a Fitbit site, Fitbit cannot take it down. Sorry.

@SunsetRunner is right about this @alotzkar. If you are concerned, get with the attorney general for your state as they are interested in internet fraud. You can also tell Paypal or your credit card company but there is no way Fitbit has to remove a site that is not legally their own. It takes a bit of doing to remove scam sites. By the time any company is aware and takes appropriate steps to have it removed, the scammers have moved on to another site. The internet is a huge place and there are so many ways to take advantage of people.

I got scammed as well on the fitbitstore.us site, which seems to have been taken down. I disputed the charge with PayPal as soon as I got the PayPal receipt. This apparently prompted "Tung Trieu" to ship an empty box to a random address in my city so that they would have "proof of delivery". That is all PayPal needed to deny my dispute and close the case. I called UPS and could at least confirm my address was not the delivery address - since I am not the shipper, they wouldn't give any more information than that. I reported that to PayPal (who does not make it easy to reopen a closed dispute), and now they want me to get an email from UPS stating it was not delivered to my address?!?! Why should I have to prove it wasn't delivered to me?? Regardless of how this turns out, this will be my last experience with PayPal!

Hi, I've got exactly the same experience with this website. Got scammed, and filed a dispute with Paypal the same day because it took me few minutes to realized this was a scam.
Since then, Paypal didn't close the case yet and today they updated me with a UPS number that the seller provided to them. So now I have to proof this wasn't me. Seems like we are few to got scammed with this seller through Paypal.

To all who have been scammed: the only thing that might help you at this time would be to get media attention. Contact your local tv news department and ask them what can be done. If they want to interview you, do it. The more attention on the scammers the better. It's not just one of you, it's so many of you. How many are too ashamed to stand up and say it happened to them, too. I know in many states, it's suggested to get with the State Attorney General for scams and price gouging. From what I've read, most of you have documentation of what's happened. You can be sure an eager news reporter will get with your banks, credit card companies, Paypal and UPS and ask them what's going on, too.
Fitbit isn't responsible for these scammers or the web sites they make. It's just sad these people continue to hurt people and still manage to walk away with a lot of money. Consumers will just have to start being more careful when they search prices on products and only go to the authentic maker of that product or an authorized retailer, as listed on the real product's page.
Whatever happens, don't any of you give up on wanting to follow the Fitbit fitness journey.

Sorry but I have given up. This is rampant. Fitbit needs to be much more aggressive with this and team up with PayPal there are hundreds and probably more that have been scammed. They have mirrored your website. Complete with a running line on the bottom talking about each new sale, a first name and the watch bought. That is sophistication
This was not a drastic discount but $135 for $200 versa2. At the very least, Fitbit should have offered a best deal to all those scammed.

@Yeahsure they don't have the whole site mirrored. I've seen the sites and they do lack in a few essential parts of the real Fitbit site. As for the "Cindy just bought a Charge 4" and "Todd just bought a Charge 3" line, that is not on the Fitbit site and is intended to make you feel the items are being sold so fast that you're going to lose a bargain. It's not just Fitbit that is being duplicated. Any company selling a popular product is having problems with scammers. By the time a person realizes they are scammed, these people have moved on. These fake sites go up quickly and they more than likely have their templates ready for the next hosting site. Just because you were scammed doesn't mean any company is going to offer you a discount. Anyone could claim to have been scammed if they knew they would be receiving a discount, right?

I'm the one who said it would be hard for Fitbit to know who had been scammed and give discounts, which was your suggestion. Look how many people buy fake devices from other brands. Doubt those brands offer discounts to those people.
There are consumer protection laws and agencies that fight for the right of those who have been scammed. I posted several suggestions on what to do, including the US government site to report fraud.

Fitbit has an authorized retailer list. It's up to you to be diligent with your money. You got scammed looking for a better deal. Ebay isn't a approved retailer. You think Fitbit is going to feel sorry for, and compensate people who have a bad experience looking for a better deal on ebay as well?
If I wanted a Versa 2, I'd just go over to Costco and get one for $140. You're not going to do much better than than from an approved retailer, or even Fitbit.

@Yeahsure - you say - I for one have little faith in placing an order at the Fitbit site
since they don't hold customers in very high regard since this is our
problem and not theirs.
This is really going to limit your shopping if you refuse to shop for any name brand products whose original companies won’t make amends if you got scammed, trying to pay less for their products at non-authorized sites. I think we have all had our say on this topic. We are each entitled to our own opinions. Time to move on to other topics ... at least for me.

I got scammed 5/12. Reported it 5/15. So far it in dispute and PayPal has not reimbursed. Neither has my credit card company.
Today, 6/7 they furnished PayPal with a tracking number. Another victim has reported it is an empty box.

Ummm, if you read the 'complaints' you would have noticed that we were all scammed by a very good spoofed website calling itself the Fitbit Store! We are not worried about a warranty on an item we never received. But it is nice to know your company is so concerned (said sarcastically)
