Hi, @gsrt - no this is most likely a button sensitivity issue, especially if you wear the watch on the right arm.

What happens is the haptic button gets triggered as a button press, depending on the action you can perhaps turn it off in the watch Settings, Shortcuts.

If you try pressing the button and the screen comes and this is the action that happens accidentally, this can't be modified.

The watch is also designed to come on when you raise your wrist.

Thanks for your help, although I can literally press the underside of the watch and it turns on/off, it’s useful but I just wondered as never read anything about a button on the underside before.

@gsrt- this shouldn't happen and is interesting as this may be an issue on other people's watches that have the same problem of the screen turning on. Thanks for posting.

Have you tried a sync then a full Shutdown from the watch Settings menu? Wait at least 10 seconds before placing on charge to restart it and charge it.

You can also chat via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support, they may take you through a factory reset but in all likelihood it won't change the behavior and you will have to set it up all over again.

If the problem continues and it's under warranty, 1 to 2 years depending on country law, take it back to where you bought for a replacement.
