I purchased a Used Fitbit Versa 2, that needs unlocked by phone. I have no way of getting a hold of seller for assistance. Is there anyway to hard reset the watch so that I can connect to my phone?

This is not working for me and keeps going back to unlock with your phone! this has never happened to me and I am usually able to resolve my issue but it just wont work.

I’m having the same problem. My watched showed “unlock from phone” and I couldn’t figure it out. So I thought I’d disconnect it and reconnect it. Mistake. Now I can’t get it reconnected because it still shows the “unlock from phone” message and won’t show the numbers needed to connect the device again. I’m attempting to hard reset using the side button but it isn’t working. It’s not resetting completely. Whenever it turns back on, it immediately shows the “unlock with phone” message. I’ve deleted the app, updated the app, updated the watch, logged out, logged back in, reset from the side. I’m at a los. At this point I want to throw the thing in the trash and get an Apple Watch.
We’re you ever able to find a solution? I’m at the same level of frustration as you. I’m about throw this **ahem** in the trash and buy an Apple Watch
Is there a number to call? The app automatically sends you to twitter (which I’ve tried) and they don’t respond.

Hi! I have the same problem, and I can't get it to vibrate the second time and do the factory reset. Do you have any other ideas? Is there another option?

Hi,
my son set a passcode for his Fitbit versa 2, to be unlocked via phone. He has now disconnected his device from his app and the watch is still locked.
I have tried the steps above, but it just brings up the Fitbit logo and then goes blank, brings Fitbit logo again and then brings up unlock with phone. Can you help please?
It’s now gone to a red x and looking at all the comments, not many have been successful in fixing this problem. Can anyone help?

I also experienced this and I understood what they meant, so delete the paired device from your Bluetooth, delete the app and install it again. The display will still say not synced but the 4 digit code will appear

For Versa 2, hold all 3 buttons until you see the fitbit logo appears then disappears. Once it disappears release the lower right button. Hold the left and upper right buttons UNTIL you feel the vibration then RELEASE the remaining buttons. Good luck. I'm pressing the back button but all its doing is pulling up the quick settings list. It never goes to the logo or a long vibration. is there another way to factory restore without a phone?

I had this issue for over a month and just managed to fix it.
I went to the FITBIT APP and REMOVED my Fitbit Versa2 from the list of Synched Devices (didn’t logout);
In my phone’s (iPhone Max11) SETTINGS, I REMOVED Fitbit Versa2 (forget this device) from the connected devices’ list;
I then TURNED OFF Bluetooth connection in my phone‘s SETTINGS (toggled the button to the left);
I then TURNED OFF my phone.
RESTARTED the phone after a few minutes:
White the phone restarted, I pressed the BACK button briefly on Fitbit to bring back the Red Cross screen;
I then kept the BACK button pressed until the Fitbit screen went dark;
I then released the BACK button and waited for the Fitbit official logo to emerge on the device’s screen;
As soon as the Fitbit screen lit up with the official logo, I pressed the BACK button very briefly and released, forcing a hard-reset;
Once the Red Cross sign appeared, I went back to the phone’s SETTINGS and turned on the Bluetooth connection;
I then went to the FITBIT APP and clicked on the ADD DEVICE option.
The app instantly found Fitbit Versa2 and all I had to do was to follow the on screen instruction. It took the app under ten minutes to update itself and synchronise my Fitbit Versa2, which now runs like it should.

If you see the "unlock with phone" icon and let's say you don't have the same phone used to set up the watch previously so you have no way to unlock with the "said" phone,
hold the button on the side for 8 seconds and then let go, then hold it down again. Just keep messing with holding that button down and releasing it every time you see the icon and then holding it down again. Confusing I know, just do it.
This will take you to a red cross failed to sync icon, then go into the app and set up a new device. The pin number will be displayed and you can set up your watch.

Hi,
I got the same message after I had followed the factory reset steps.
After that I went to my app and went to add a device. My app searched my fitbit successfully and a code was sent on my watch.
as soon as I entered the code in my mobile app, I could connect my watch to my app and the Red Cross with error message was gone and then my app installed data on my watch and I could connect and start using my watch.
