Unlock Versa via phone

Fitbit Versa says "unlock with your phone". When I try and reset the pin, I get an error saying "error connecting to Versa". I have tried the following:

  1. disabling fitbit pay
  2. removing any cards from my fitbit wallet and trying to reset pin
  3. forgetting bluetooth from paired devices and reconnecting
  4. removing versa from fitbit app and re adding it
  5. going through any relevant forum posts on the same issue (there are many unresolved cases who have the same problem as me)

Could you please advise on next steps forward?

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. To unlock your watch with your phone:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap or click Device Lock.
  3. Find the option to reset your PIN code.

like i said, i have tried this and get the message "error connecting to versa". there are many unresolved threads on the forum with the same issue. I am sure that the versa is synching with the app as it updates my steps.

I've completed the troubleshooting and have done these steps several times. Even after power cycling my phone it still tells me there's an error connecting. Looks like we need an alternate solution. Thanks!
