I have recently installed the new update which was fine initially but now half of my fitbit apps are in a different language and when I select an app such as settings nothing opens up so I am not able to factory reset!

Hi @Ashleigh3113 - this might be unrelated to the update.
First in the Fitbit App click profile photo and App settings and set your correct location. Logout of the app and restart the phone.
Also rrestart the watch. Hold the button for 10 seconds till it vibrates or the logo appears. Wait for it to start and sync with the app
That may well fix it.
