Try a restart. Do it at least 3 times.

Then try the update again

@Ritter161 Welcome! It's nice to have you on board! After the restart suggested by @WendyB make sure to fully charge your new Versa and that your phone or computer is connected to wifi. During the update avoid taking them away from the wifi/router so they both have a good signal.

Let me know how it goes!

Same issue here.

Update is not working.  Versa is fully charged.  Reset 4 times by pushing in left and bottom right buttons. Wifi is up and functioning on both computer and iphone.  Versa shows a moving logo - dots changing intensity.  Aqua vertical band on left side of face, about 5% of the total width.

Help.

I was having issues too.

What ended up working for me was starting over.

Restarted my iPhone, reset the Versa, deleted the "Versa" (that I had started trying to update) on my fitbit app, then re-added it. Re adding it seemed to really reset the whole thing.

Once I did all that it updated and was up and running in about 20 minutes.

Hope this helps!

Same here. Never had an update be this long.

Connect your versa to the WiFi before updating avoid using Bluetooth connection between versa and phone for updates. That takes forever. Using Wi-Fi to update took me about 20 minutes to complete. Hope that this helps.

Hi,

I am also not able to update my versa and on top of that it keeps showing Unable to Connect to Versa.

Check my thread HERE about this issue. Don’t let Fitbit give you the runaround. You can return the watch within 40 days no questions asked.  See their website. Returned mine because of this issue. Waiting for replacement.

I emailed fitbit and if you don't have it updating over Wi-Fi it will take
forever.

I was having the same problem. What worked for me was I actually uninstalled the app on my phone and re-installed it. Not only did it work but the apps userface also looked different.

I use my apt building's wifi and have no direct access to the router.  Any suggestions?

Use you phone as a hot spot and hook up to the WiFi on your phone.   I did that.  It worked perfectly.

Just a general observation. But why is everybody so quick to return the device.  Bluetooth and WiFi are often quirky with mobile devices.  There are tons of phone Mfg and tons of settings.  Usually something will work.  Something.

My brand new Versa has been updating for about 45 minutes (so far).  Went online and found the Versa User Guide which says this, "Updating Versa can take an hour or longer and may be demanding on the battery. For this reason, we recommend plugging your watch into the charger before starting an update. ".  12 hours?  Don't think so....

FYI. Mine was doing this as well. I got a hold of a support agent that walked me through the hard factory reset. Hold all three buttons down...the logo will come up....once it disappears again, release the bottom right button (continue holding the other two). If you did it right, you will feel a vibration. Release the two buttons. I popped it back on the charging station and around a minute or two later, a red X came up asking me to try the setup again (sync again). After that, just start the setup process over again. I would make sure the Versa is NOT in the fitbit app and reboot your phone BEFORE attempting to setup again.

That's what I had to do as well...the watch is only compatible with certain wifi towers.

Deleted my Fitbit App, downloaded it again.  Signed into Wifi (again).  5 minutes, Update is 1/2 done.
