I have been trying to update my new Versa for about 36 hours. I tried different wifi's different settings. Etc. Is the Versa not compatible with Apple products? I was told to download the fitbit app to my dell computer and not use my mac. I know this is a new product and there is always a learning curve but give us some information. the tech I talked to last nite blamed it on my wifi, my bluetooth etc. Why keep a product that doesn't work on half the technology out there... or communicate the issue so we understand

I finally was able to update via WiFi. Bluetooth after two days was impossible at a snail's pace.

I switched my router to 2.4 GHz band, seems the Versa/Fitbit can't do 5 GHz.

Removed my screen timeout on my phone, left it on update screen.

Download took 20-30 minutes, installation a few minutes, and prior to sync completion my Versa was ready to go.

yes i have tried it on both bluetooth and WI-Fi. I called customer service and was told it can take up to 3 hours. It is brand new not sure why it needs an update.

I'm so glad to hear you had success with your Pixel 2 XL. I was trying all morning. I decided to uninstall the ap, then when I tried reinstalling it, it wouldn't let me.

I'll try again later when I get home.

Fingers crossed.

If I turn off my Bluetooth I get a message that it was interrupted because Bluetooth is not connected. So, I have to connect to Bluetooth. During initial setup I did select my Wi-Fi network and connect. My phone is connected to Wi-Fi and it is a good connection. I cannot figute out why this is taking so long. It has been almost 3 hours.

I have an Android- will it work the same way? Mine has been updating for hours now and nothing. It's almost half way blue on the fitbit logo and the rest is black with white dots. It's so frustrating! Geel squad at Best Buy told me it's not compatible with Samsung but Fitbit says that's not true. Any one else have a Samsung and working with Versa?

I do.

My problem was trying to load on public Wi-Fi. It doesn't like that.

what I had to do was uninstall and reinstall fitbit app and replace my
device on the app and it updated in 20 minutes on my android device.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 6, when I first tried to Update I had the same issues.  I uninstalled the Fitbit app on my phone and then reinstalled it.  Not sure why (clean installation?) but Update was done within 30 minutes.  That was a couple weeks ago and it continues to work.

Mine too was “stuck” on update. However, when I went to restart my watch, I pushed the back and bottom right button for about one second, and it came back up again!

But it's a NEWproduct - and certainly not cheap, you shouldn't have to do all that, I have 2, both on different networks and on different floors of the house, 14  hours so far and still havent updated.

VERY frustrating - I havbe far better things to do than check my update every hour 😞

Thanks for the heads up on updating my new versa!  Turning off bluetooth while updating worked perfectly.

Doesn’t it give you the error that it lost connection when you turn off Bluetooth while updating thru WiFi?

No luck updating mine. My first Versa lasted 5 days and it wouldn't update at all. After trying it repeatedly and spending 12 hours on phone with customer service who was also unable to get it to update, I returned it and got a new one. Needless to say, I hesitated to try to update it after 2 weeks. I just tried it via Wifi as well as Bluetooth with no success. So, I am living with it non updated. Perhaps I will call them for assistance someday, but not tonight. I'm too frustrated!

Hi, no I didn't get an error message when i turned bluetooth off whilst updating the new versa I felt the process was taking too long so took a chance that it would make a difference and it did.  Other people were saying "try starting the whole process over again" so I thought I had nothing to lose by turning bluetooth off at that point.  As soon as i did the update completed almost straight away.  Hope you have success!

Hi update on my last reply.  When updating for the first time turn on bluetooth when prompted but when you get to the final stages if you're finding it's taking too long say 2-3hrs then that's when i decided to turn bluetooth off because i felt the phone had lets say "got it's knickers in a twist" and appeared to be doing nothing, as soon as i turned bluetooth off at that point everything seemed to work fine.  I hope this helps. Thank you for your input. I decided to try to one more time and although it took about 3 hours, it worked via Bluetooth. Still don't know why it wouldn't pick up in WIFI(even when I sat right beside the modem with phone and watch on chargers)...it would not start the update unless the Bluetooth was on. (Some of the suggestions had said to turn off BT and go WIFI..). I am not very technological, but it finally worked. Hope we don't all have to do this again for a long while!! Thanks again for taking the time to write.
