Upgrade from HR Charge to Versa

I just bought an upgrade from my fitbit HR charge (original one) to the Versa. I've never had a smart watch before, I have no idea how to even work it. I've figured out basic things like how to check the steps, heart rate etc -- but how do I go about downloading apps, making my text and phone notifications work, etc? My phone vibrates when I get a text, but nothing shows up... I'm guessing its something I have to get used to...

There's quite a lot of changes and new features to get used to. I recommend getting started by reading the online manual at https://staticcs.fitbit.com/content/assets/help/manuals/manual_versa_en_US.pdf
