Fitbit Update: 2/6
Fitbit OS 4.1.1 (Firmware Version: 35.70.7.21) for VERSA 2 smartwatches has been released to 100% of users. If you haven't yet, please make sure you update your watch to this new firmware.
If you recently purchased or set up your Versa 2, you might not see this firmware available to you yet. Continue syncing the watch and in a few days or less, you'll be prompted to update to this firmware.
Fitbit Update: 1/31
Hi, Versa 2 users!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1.1 (Firmware Version: 35.70.7.21) exclusively for Versa 2 Smartwatches.
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes the following:
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa 2 can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa 2, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips. If you have any issues after completing the update, when in doubt, try a restart on the watch.
How to restart your watch:
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Toxic Firmware. Ruined my Versa 2. immediately started having charging issues after update

Can anyone at Fitbit advise the percentage of successful installs so far..? I'm holding off updating because of the complaints, non-responding watches, non-responsive screens, inaccurate readings ect but you guys have not withdrawn the update... I've actually not seen anyone say that they've installed with no problems within a day or so...
...So am I meant to update and just pray it doesn't ruin my versa?
I'd like to be assured its a risk worth taking (not that it should be a risk at all!)

I had problems before with my Versa 2, before the update, and it got worse after the update. (touchscreen not working). I'm still not sure if is related.
Then I got a new Versa 2, and it immediately installed the latest firmware, and now it is working fine. HR is ok, sleep tracking is working, apps and clock faces are as expected.
And of course on this forum you will mainly see people complaining about the FW. If it works fine then they probably don't see a reason to post it here 🙂

Can we go back to the previous firmware? I liked that version more, but I cannot find how to get back to an older firmware.

@LizzyFitbit I turned off hr and restart it but today i had also problems with hr,its not drastic but for example before update it was more accurate and it did not late, for example i was doing 5-10min cardio warm up and hr was good, then weights and somewhere in mid workout while i was resting my hr was 132 and my real hr was lik 90,then after 5-10s dropped down to correct hr,i did not had that kind of problems before update with hr

I had the same observations too after this latest firmware update. It doesn't occur often but every so often it does this (a noticeable delay for the HR to get back to correct value).

Support determined that my battery is defective and are sending out a replacement. I'm not 100% certain that the firmware update ruined my battery, but the timing is impeccable. I appreciate a company that is willing to stand by their product and replace it when there is an issue. Hopefully my new watch has better luck.

Same here! I have the 33.13.30 version. This is a replacement watch because the last Versa I had was useless after I did an update to 35.70.7.21

Make sure your heart rate monitor didn't get turned off with the update like mine did! After about ten emails to support, I got a reply that said they had gone in through the back door (or whatever word they used) and saw that it had been turned off. I turned it back on and got a sleep score! Maybe that will fix yours, too!

I found a strange fix to the problem. I have been facing the similar problem after this update, my touchscreen would randomly stop responding. I turned AOD and it solved the issue. Hope it helps.
Fitbit needs to address this issue ASAP.

Hi,
Does this new update fix the notifications issue where you entire text message appears as the notification instead of just who it is from, and the same happens on your phone?
Thanks

Hi everyone. It's good to see you here in the forums and I'm sorry for the delay.
Thanks for taking the time to report the issues experienced with your Versa 2, as well for the troubleshooting steps tried on your own. Our team takes very seriously every comment posted in the forums to evaluate our procedures and improve our products and services. Your feedback is truly appreciated and won't go be taken for granted.
As mentioned before, this thread is related to any issue experienced during or after the Fitbit OS 4.1.1 (35.70.7.21) update for Versa 2. If you have issues to set up, sync, compatibility or notifications, let me invite you to start a new thread in the Android board, iOS board or Windows 10 board. In there you'll have more chances to get an answer and receive help from the Community.
@NadineMel, @Valory and @Strahinja, I appreciate you for trying a Fitbit clock face and sharing the results. Since we've exhausted our steps, I've gone ahead and requested a case on your behalf so our Support team can look into this and give you a hand. Keep an eye on your inbox.
@hartini.r and @DentristM, thanks for letting me know that your Versa 2 watches. I'm sorry that you've had this experience and after contacting our team I was told that you already have created a case with them. Please keep working with them so you can receive further assistance.
@JeShaheen, thanks for bringing this to my attention and confirming that your Pilates exercise was initiated on your watch. Let me explain that active minutes are earned when the activity that you're doing is more strenuous than regular walking for more than 10 minutes. It's also important to get accurate heart rate readings and calories burned to earn active minutes.
That said, please turn Off the heart rate function within your Versa 2 settings, restart your watch and monitor its behavior on your next exercise. Make sure your watch is positioned correctly on your wrist.
@hucmuc, thanks for the information. Just to confirm, have you seen this type of delay on the rest of your stats, such as steps, distance or floors? Since your post didn't mention, please try restarting your Versa 2 to correct any misbehavior and make sure to wear it as described here. Let me know if that helps.
@Mkomatsu, thanks for getting back. I contacted our team on your behalf and it seems they helped you with your Versa 2 via chat. In that case, please follow their recommendations on your watch so you can get accurate heart rate readings.
@Skikitt, just to confirm, do you mean that you've not received a response from our Support team after contacting them? If that's not the case, could you please provide me with more details about the issues experienced with your Versa 2 during or after the firmware update?
@sawan25, thanks for sharing the steps that worked for you and I'm sure others will find your post very helpful! About your concern, please know every comment shared here is always reviewed by our team to enhance your watch's performance. If you continue having issues with the touchscreen, don't hesitate to let me know.
Let me know if you have another question.

My touchscreen has stopped working altogether after this update. So disappointing as this device is fairly news. I’ve tried restarting several times to no avail. Also unable to turn off my alarm and I rely on my sleep tracking so I wear it to sleep. Please help - this is incredibly frustrating.

I’ve tried to find a way to do this via the app, even finding a face that allows me to adjust via settings, but no dice. Touchscreen is completely unresponsive so I can’t reach those settings or turn the alarm off. It also keeps buzzing/shutting completely off repeatedly throughout the day - outside of my move reminders every :50 of the hour. None of this was happening before the update.

@LizzyFitbit thank you,. Now and then I switch the setting for the screen wake back to auto motion to see if it causes my fitbit to restart.. I'm trying it again today to see if there is any changes. 🤞
